"The World Is Full of Magical Things, Patiently Waiting For Our Senses To Sharpen."
Phoenix shuffled down towards Hagrid's hut. Her ginger hair bouncing with each step as a rather large grin grew on her face. She could see him already from the school tending to his garden. It had been a few days since the incident with the dementor. She of course was trying to find it in her to forgive George and Blair for wandering off. They apologized and were trying to make up for it, but she hadn't even wanted to be out. If they had been there, then perhaps she would have been safe. It took four days for Phoenix to convince the twins and Blair to not follow her everywhere. They had been breathing down her neck and refused to let her even go to the bathroom alone. They weren't too sure what had occurred with the dementor, but they certainly didn't want it happening again. That much was obvious, but now Phoenix got some time to herself.
Well technically with Hagrid, but there was never a dull moment with him so she couldn't complain. She noticed he was waving at her now, and she found herself waving back a slight laugh escaping her as she grew closer. "Hard at work I see Hagrid," She chimed in. Her gold eyes flickering over the crops with keen interest.
Hagrid let out a low rumbling chuckle as he left his shovel against the side of his hut. "Just tending to a few things is all. Glad to see you could make it before class. Now ere take this will ya?" Hagrid leaned down shuffling through some sort of bag before handing Phoenix a rather large deceased weasel.
Unphased she took the weasel in her hands; the smell was a little bad but after helping often enough she didn't mind. "So, what are we doing this time around Hagrid," She asked. Her mind already trying to come up with all sorts of creatures that Hagrid would have prepared for them.
Hagrid chuckled at her excitement as he stood up. A few weasels now tied to his waist as he responded, "Today I'm going to introduce you all to Buckbeak of course." He didn't miss the way Phoenix's eyes brightened at that. Since her arrival she had helped him care for the Hippogriff, they need a lot of attention and having spent so much time with Scamander she knew lots about the species. He needed someone to check in while he had classes, and he knew Phoenix was the one for the job.
Phoenix was practically bouncing up and down at this point. A large grin on her face at the thought of her classmates learning about the sweet Hippogriff she had been caring for. Buckbeak was a sweet thing, at least sweeter than most hippogriffs. You just had to treat him with the utmost of respect. "It'll be great I'm sure Hagrid! Is that why you wanted me down here early?" She tied the last ferret to Hagrid's waist noting that he had quite a few for Buckbeak to eat now.
"Yes, you see about that... I'll need you to get Buckbeak down to the forest on yer own." Phoenix dropped her wand. Her eyes flickering up to him as a rather nervous laugh escaped her.
"Y-You're kidding right?" She didn't miss the big grin growing on Hagrid's face. She ran a hand through her hair anxiously. A slight huff escaping as she took off the scrunchie she had on her wrist and she pulled her hair back knowing it would be for the best.
"Of course, I'm serious! Come on, better get him ready," Hagrid said. He was unusually calm, and Phoenix noted how confidently he was walking towards the stables. The stable was hidden a little further in the woods with a magical lock to keep wandering students out. Hagrid muttered the password, and the doors slowly opened. Buckbeak was already settled near the back of the barn. His head rising curiously as the doors opened. Phoenix noted how excited Buckbeak seemed at the sight of her. Buckbeak was quickly up on his feet heading straight toward her. A loud squawk leaving his lips, and before Hagrid could intervene Buckbeak charged.
