You were used to having everything handed to you. As much as you hated to admit it, it was the truth.

Your father died serving in the Survey Corps when you were 8. Your mother & sister both went missing five years after his death. The official cause of death was that your mother killed herself, bringing your older sister with her.

This left you. Thirteen with no immediate family left. Keyword: immediate.

You knew you had an aunt that married into a rich family living in the capital, you'd just never met her. When your aunt got word of what happened to her sister, she took you in. Your aunt and uncle treated you as their own and after everything you'd lost, they decided you deserved to get whatever you wanted. You adjusted to life in the capital city quickly, going to parties at the castle, having a private tutor, and eating fancy sweets whenever you wanted.

However, this never changed your plans for your future. You still were dead set on following your father's footsteps and joining the Survey Corps. Your family and the many nobles who had nothing better to do than gossip had no idea why you'd ever want to leave the capital city and go outside the walls.

But just because you adjusted to the rich life quickly didn't mean you liked it. It was suffocating. There were rules you had to always and I mean always follow. There was proper etiquette that you had to learn. Every single minute of your daily schedule was planned out for you by your aunt, giving you no downtime. The only thing the other teenage girls in your neighborhood did was go shopping and you were tired of it.

As thankful as you were to your aunt, you weren't meant to live a boring life, safe in the innermost wall.

After joining the training corps when you were sixteen, you'd worked your ass off and graduated fourth in your class. Of course, everybody couldn't help but think that you'd paid your way into the top ten spots to join the MPs and go back home. It definitely surprised your friends when you chose the Survey Corps instead.

A few more years and many expeditions that you weren't expected to survive but did by a miracle, later, you were at the Survey Corps headquarters, eating lunch with your squad.

"I heard that the Levi Squad is recruiting one more soldier before our next expedition," y/bff/n said quietly. You perked up, hearing those words.

"Seriously?" You asked.

"Yeah and apparently he's not even considering you. You should really just go punch him" Y/bff/n nodded.
