Theodore glances away from the temple, and the jumble of erect and fallen pillars guarding its circular centre, to the edge of the clearing that surrounds it. He sits on one of the fallen pillars, his suit a little creased and his jacket open, showing his silver waistcoat. On top of this, his hair is slightly messy and Surtur doesn't seem very happy. 'What an unlikely pair.' He thinks as Yang and Blake emerge from the forest together.

"Oh, hey Theodore," Yang calls happily, waving as she and Blake walk up to the temple. Theodore smiles and waves back, noticing some dirt on his arm as he does so, which he promptly brushes off. Surtur puffs out a plume of smoke and takes to the sky, slowly circling the clearing. "We heard a weird roar," Yang says. "Know anything about it?" She asks with a slight smirk, glancing at Surtur for a moment.

Theodore puts on an innocent smile. "No idea." He stands up from the pillar. "Now please, claim your prize." He gestures to the relics lined up on pedestals around the centre circle of the ruins. Blake continually checks the perimeter, keeping an eye on the tree line, as Yang wanders into the temple. Surtur's head snaps to Blake as her bow twitches, like an ear picking up a distant sound.

"Chess pieces?" Yang looks puzzled as she inspects the pedestals and the ancient temple that houses them. Some of the pieces are missing, which Yang mentions to Blake, who simply shrugs as if to accept this is because they are not the first to arrive. Yang looks at the assorted pieces for a moment before picking up a white knight. "How about the cute pony?"

Blake turns to her briefly. "Sure." She gives the smallest of smiles just as the bushes at the edge of the clearing rustle and snap. Their weapons are ready by the time an Ursa comes crashing through the underbrush, rearing on its hind legs with a roar.

"Yeeeeeehaaaawww!" Comes an excited voice from behind it, or more accurately on it. Falling forward dead, the monster reveals a red-headed girl, with a breath-taking outfit comprised of an eclectic mix of colours and materials, sat on its shoulders. Getting off and dejectedly looking at the beast, she gently pokes it with her finger. "Aww, it's broken." She whines as a boy with long black hair with a bright pink streak in it runs up next to the dead Ursa, panting like he's just run a marathon; he rests a hand on the corpse for support as he doubles over.

"Nora... don't ever do that again." He says between deep breaths, looking up to see Nora already gone, he sighs in defeat. Nora, however, is already looking at the relics, settling on the white rook. She grabs it and starts chanting about being 'Queen of the castle', dancing around, waving the piece in the air. "NORA!" He shouts. She hurriedly stops dancing, a nervous giggle escaping her.

"Coming, Ren." She blinks quickly, pocketing the relic. Yang, Blake, and Theodore look at the two in confusion, unsure of what they just witnessed. Nora happily skips over to Ren, her bright pink skirt billowing slightly. Ren stands with his arms crossed, trying his best to look upset. His simple white trousers and green Kimono jacket giving him a sage-like appearance next to Nora's various shiny metal plates, forming a sleek corset that ends just below her bust. She also adorns a high collar black vest over a white shirt, a small heart-shaped opening is cut over the middle of her chest, with pink and white sneakers completing her look.

'Well... I've never seen that in an initiation. Or ever for that matter' Theodore thinks as Yang and Blake start commenting on how strange the two seem. But Blake stops and quickly glances to the sky.

"What's that?" She simply points upwards.

Theodore follows her finger, he can just about make out two dots above them, growing larger by the millisecond. One red, one white, and heading straight for them. Surtur looks across the tree line and sees a similar black and blue dot approaching fast, next to a golden dot, both sailing over the trees like bullets.
