After a few days of traveling by sea we reached our destination. I heard the massive anchor drop from the deck, a few moments later the ship rocked followed by a loud thump signalling we've docked.

Throughout the journey I worked like crew. Angelo didn't give me an assigned, permanent job like everyone else being that I'm not a permanent member but he gave me daily tasks to do around the ship that involved each job. He treated me like everyone else and I was thankful for that.

I sat on the cushion seat by his window, still sleeping in his quarter. I've been in this spot almost all night, unable to sleep.

I watched the wooden walkway drop down onto the deck and crew members walking down- the same moment I hear the door knock followed by someone calng my name.

I got up quickly and opened the door coming face to face with Catherine, who I learned was the gunner of the ship, she dealt with weapons.

"Good morning!" She smiles, her blue eyes brighter and more lively than before. "We'll be staying in this village for a bit, come on."

She turns away and begins walking down wooden steps, her short blond hair swinging above her shoulders.

I see Angelo on the main deck talking to the cabin boy that I've seen around the ship but never gotten to speak to. He looks around fourteen or fifteen, definetly the youngest person on the ship.

Angelo hands him a small bag as he runs off the ship and bumps into me. He stares at me for a moment, startled "Isabella? The carribean girl, right?"

"Uh, yes?"

"Sorry I never properly introduced myself," he smirks a flirtatous grin while holding out his hand "You are tunning."

"And she's too old for you Philip, keep it moving." Angelo comes up from behind me, hands in his jacket pockets and combed back thick, brown hair.

Philip laughs and jogs off the ship into the village.

"Come on," Angelo begins walking off as well.

The moment we stepped onto the land, I was caught by surprise. All the workers by the doc came up to Angelo with open arms, positively welcoming him.

Every shop and market we stopped by the locals already knew him, they were excited and glad to see him again. The scenery was much more lively.

And by the end of the day we, along with many other members of the crew went to a bar lounge by the coast.

Everyone was laughing and conversing, they all seemed happy and at home. Meanwhile I sat by myself by the fire- sticking out awkwardly like a sore thumb.

I was surrounded by so many people yet felt so alone.

The feeling made me emotional and I didn't want to be, everyone looked so happy and I didn't want to dapen the mood with my gloomy attitude so I stepped out and walked down the street.
