NEXT SESSION
RANDOM POV
Cameron walks up with a black and red teddy bear. "Hello, Michele with one "L". How are you?" He says smiling like a Cheshire cat.
"I'm fine, thank you for asking. You can take a seat so we can get started." She says not looking up at him at all.
"If you say so Sergeant Ines. So...what are we doing today?" He asks trying to get her to open up and converse with him, while placing the bear on the table.
"Review first. I need to see if you retained any of the information we went over during the last session." She says looking up. "What's this?" She asks, referring to the teddy bear.
"A teddy bear?" He says with a frown.
She huffs and shakes her head. "I know that. I meant what is it doing here? Is it for one of your groupies?" She says scoffing at it.
"No. Actually, I got it for you." He says smiling at her.
"Oh... Why?" she asks suspiciously.
"Wow...is my reputation that bad? I don't want anything from you." He says holding up his hands in mock surrender. "This is a peace offering; a thank you." He says with a light shrug.
"Hmm...if you say so. Let's get started." She says looking at the teddy bear suspiciously. "Thank you..."
THREE HOURS LATER
"That's it for today. I have to get to work. I'll see you on Thursday." Reyna says while packing up.
"Okay." He says nodding. "Did you get my letter?" he asks with his head tilted to the side and his arms folded over his broad chest.
"Yes." She says grabbing the teddy bear. "Finish the worksheet, and we'll go over it on Thursday. Don't forget to hand in your homework." She says before leaving the library.
Cameron stands there stuck in place watching her leave the library. "Ouch. Class dismissed." He asks himself in disbelief.
AT WORK
REYNA'S POV
"How was today's session Ms. Ines?" A jolly Mr. Vincent asks.
"It went well." He isn't as dumb as I thought he was. "Thankfully." I respond with a smile.
"So, I see. You aren't as...what is the word?...moody as you were when you got the news." He says with a chuckle. "I thought for sure I'd have to replace a few walls and doors since you'd be shooting death rays at everything." He adds with another chuckle.
I watch him for a moment. He's very handsome for an older man; a full head of salt and pepper hair, piercing blue eyes, straight nose, high cheekbones, tall broad chest, all of his perfectly straight white teeth. Mr. Vincent must have been some kind of gorgeous back in the day. "Mr. Vincent? How are you always so happy? I mean, I think it's great. I never see you with a frown on your face for very long." I say beaming at him.
