Chapter 11: Why didn't you Tell me

You watched as Bokuto sadly walked in the opposite direction. Akaashi walked with purpose. Almost to the point where you had to jog to keep up with him.

"Keiji! Wait!"

He ended up stopping. His expression blank.

"Keiji...wh...where are we going..?"

He looked at you.

"Let's go."

You nod and follow him. He leads you to a restaurant. Nothing fancy and nothing too overzealous. It was an Applebee's. You two are seated and you you watch as he looks at rhe menu.

"Keiji..?"

"Y/N, lets order first. Then we'll talk."

You nod and decide to look over the menu. You honestly wished Bokuto was with you. You were happy, maybe he was too. The waitress eventually came over and you two ordered your drinks and your meals.

"Ok. Now. Tell me."

Akaashi sighed. He looked down at his hands and started fidgeting with them.

"Y/N, look. I wanted to tell you this for a while but, it looks like someone beat me to it."

"Akaashi.."

"Keiji..please.."

You nodded and complyed to his request.

"Keiji...what do you mean..?"

"Bokuto-san confessed to you. Didn't he? He confessed that he liked you?"

You nod in response.

"I...i was going to do the same. I was going to tell you that..that. Ugh...damn...why is this so hard..? I was going to confess to you. Tell you that I liked you and that I...i thought..i thought we could..try. I thought that we could give it a shot. Dating. Each...each other."

You stared at him blankly.

"Y/N?"

You looked down. Feeling guilty. Well, to be honest, you didn't know what you were feeling. You rubbed your eyes and placed your cheeks in your palms.

Akaashi slumped over. He sighed and straightened up. The waitress came back with your drinks and said that the food was going to be out soon. He nodded and thanked her while you just nodded as a gesture.

"Did you forget..?"

His voice was soft and almost demanding.

"What..?"

Your voice seemed uncharacteristically stern. It caused him to straighten slightly.

"The times I helped you. With Aria..and...your father. When you came to me, bawling your eyes out, saying that you were going to end it all? Huh? Did you forget about all those times when I made you come over for dinner and spend the night because you didn't have any food? Did you forget that you just met him, what? Yesterday!?"

"SHUT UP!!!"

You stood up, slamming your hands on the table. Your chair fell back and hit the hardwood. The entire restaurant seemed frozen and staring at you. Akaashi was in the same boat, a little more shocked than the rest.

"JUST....shut...up..."

You felt tears forming in your eyes and blurring your vision. Akaashi went to grab your hand.

"Y/N--"

You pulled away from him. He looked up at you worriedly. You turned tail and booked it out of the restaurant. You ran and ran until you reached the park. You ran to the hill where you and Bokuto were earlier.

Taking a deep breath and looking up at the moon, you sighed against the navy sky surrounding you. You patted your pockets and felt your phone. You searched through your contacts and remembered that you had Bokuto's number. All thanks to the group chat...Akaashi...put you in. You dialed Bokuto's number and he answered almost immediately.

"Y/N??? Hey, Hey, Hey!! Never thought you'd call!!"

"B-bokuto..?"

"Wha...wait...what's wrong..?"

"Can...can you meet me at the park...now?"

"Yeah, is everything ok?"

"Mhm...just...please come get me...im on the hill we were on earlier."

"I'll be there in 15 minutes. Is it chilly? Need my jacket? Is there some creep following you?"

"We...we can talk about it later..."

"Hm...ok. I'm leaving now. I'm coming. Stay put."

"I will.."

You ended the call. You laid down and placed your phone on your chest. You decided to stargaze as to not bore yourself or try to sleep.

"Big Dipper...Little Dipper...Orion...Leo....Usra Major..."
