Point of View: Ghost

Slipping my fingers into my mouth, I let out a soft whistle before pulling them out of my mouth. Frowning, the male glances around to see if anyone noticed but what he doesn't realize is that the whistle wasn't meant for human ears. Looking over to my pup, Aaron has clearly heard my whistle has shifted. He now sits bolt up right, paws in front, chest out, butt down, tail pressed to his side, and his eyes completely trained on me waiting for a command.

Noticing the change, the male besides Apa straightens and points it out to Apa. Confused, Apa follows the male's nod to Aaron. Frowning, Apa follows Aaron's line of sight to the woods. His eyes wonder the edge until they settle on me. It only takes a moment for Apa's lips to break out in a smile and turn to say something to the male who has also found me. Frowning, the stranger watches as Apa places his hands on Mel's sides and shifts her away from the game.

Startled, she squirms until Apa puts out a finger. Pointing me out in the edge of the woods, Mel instantly scrambles off of Apa's lap. Not believing her eyes, she stares at me with wide eyes and I can't help but smile. Pulling away from the tree, I give a small wave. My body buzzes with energy as I watch the little bring her hands up to her mouth. Her soft warm voice instantly washes over the field to me as she makes the sound of a crow.

With the Academy, I never knew when I could be called away or when you might disappear. Apa was the closest thing I had to family and the orphan crows he looked after were the children, I couldn't have. It had made my heart burst the first time I had returned and they made the sound of a crow. I didn't have a team but these crows were my family.

The sound of Mel's voice cuts through the entire field. Mel, the quietest crow who rarely spoke a word to anyone stands strong and proud as she goes to make the call again. This time however, it is not just her voice but ll of the voices of my crows. I glance to the field and the bleachers and I find their hands at their lips as well. Price blossoms in my chest.

Ignoring those dark brown eyes on me, I bring my hands up to my lips once more to return the call. The sound of my voice starts the game once more and I move toward the field. Aaron races forward joining me first bouncing with happiness at my arrival. Laughing as he does circles around me, I ruffle his head as he takes his place at my side. Hearing the crunch of footsteps, I glance up to find Mel rushing to me.

Closing the gap between us, the second she is within arms reach, I scoop her up and bright her right to my chest. Her arms wrap tightly round my neck, the distance between us disappearing completely. Instantly, I feel warm wet tears soaking into my sweatshirt as she happily cries into my shoulder. Taking a moment, I soak in her warmth before I am able to gather my voice. "My little crows called me." My voice soft as she gives me a small nod. "Thank you." Sniffling she squeezes me tighter and I make my way over to the folding chair.

Temporarily ignoring the stranger who has stood and now stands off to the side maybe a foot behind Apa my eyes linger on the old man who is now standing. Meeting those soft wrinkled eyes, I am unable to suppress a huge smile. Once I am close enough, I carefully place Mel on her feet before stepping into Apa's arms. Those strong arms that I remember so well tighten around me pulling me tightly into his chest. Tears instantly spring up as my body remembers the feeling of his touch and takes in the familiarity of his scent. Home.

Safe and sound my crow. Apa whispers in my ear and I let out a shaky breath. The sound of his voice hitting me like a wall.

Safe and sound Apa. I whisper in return. Both of us hold still embracing each other for a moment longer before we both pull away. Apa and I both reach up to brush tears off of our cheeks and we share a light chuckle.

"They were worried you weren't going to make it back in time." Apa states glancing to the field and I catch sight of Max making a goal. Pride is clear in his stance, confidence in each step. "Lee was very anxious not to see you before she had to return to the church."

Feeling small arms wrap around my leg, I draw my attention to the little and run my fingers through her braided hair. "I promised." I state softly as her large brown eyes stare at me. A large smile quickly spreads across her face nodding.

Apa lets out a heavy laugh as I smile in return memorizing that large smile on her lips. Spotting Aaron glance to the right, I glance up to find two males rushing over from the bleachers. Turning, I smile at the boys stare at me for a moment before I open my arms. Instantly the two rush into my arms almost knocking me over as they give me tight hugs. Wrapping my arms as tightly as I can around both of them I soak in their scents as they do the same to me.

"We were worried." Danny whispers into my ear and I smile pulling back. The muscular male meets my eyes with those deep blue ones. Searching them, I shake my head before looking to Ari who nervously brushes his black hair back.

"That's what Apa was saying." I shake my head smirking as I shift my weight a little, Mel still clinging to my leg. "I said I would make it to a game."

Ari laughs softly and glances to the field smiling. "Just in time too." I smirk.

"Just trying to keep him out of trouble." Shrugging, I catch sight of movement and I find the stranger from the bleachers joining the caramel skinned stranger. The one with glasses looks at me stunned as the other glances me over taking me in.

"Izzy..." Pulling my attention, I find Apa magically back in his folding chair. "Take a moment and watch your crows play." Knowing he is trying to distract me from the strangers I can't help but glance to the field to find Mikael kicking the ball. Nodding, I take a seat on the grass. Crossing my legs, I can feel Aaron pull at my hood before laying down pressed against my back. The pup could finally relax and not be on guard. Smirking, I ruffle his scruff when Mel appears in front of me.

Reaching out, she quickly turns and I pull her back into my lap, curling up, she leans her side against my chest her head resting in the crook of my neck. Ari and Danny quickly take a seat on my left. Focusing on the game, I catch the slight movement from the corner of my eye as the two strangers take a seat to my left as well but behind Ari and Danny. Interesting... Distracting myself, I focus on the game clapping and hooting with Danny as Ari hides his face with his bangs in embarrassment.
