"So this is the power of a Baku." My father said.
"A Baku?" I asked.
His hands were on his waist as he nodded his head comically, looking across his field of vision to the north. Looking at the low hills covered in dark green forestry.
Minerva did not say a word. She got down from her motorbike and looked around like we all were.
The sight of the sleeping people was grotesque in a less frightful manner. We knew they were not dead, but piles of Bodies on the ground made it look like a massacre.
"What's this Baku we're up against?" Jude asked.
"Well, a Baku devours nightmares when you sleep. Some sort of good spirit." I answered.
"If it's not human, it's probably not good." My dad intruded. His eyes were looking straight at me.
"Human beings also have a will, we're all capable of doing everything." Minerva said.
She walked to a fat man with a dirty beard on floor. He was in a bad position that could give him a muscle ingury in the neck when he wakes up.
A dog was sniffing him.
She scares the dog off and props him up in a good posture. She went closer to man, putting her ears close to the Man's mouth.
"Anything wrong?" My Dad asked.
"Oh nothing, he's murmuring something, I think he's dreaming." She answered.
"What did he say?"
"Something about numbers? Maybe that's his nightmare." She placed her hands in both pockets in front of her jeans.
She turned and seemed to be looking at something in the distance between two buildings in the near distance.
"Nev." My Dad called.
"Yes?"
"What do you think it is then?."
I walked pass him and stood in front of some bodies on the ground.
"You said they're going to be asleep for almost an hour." I said and then turned towards him. "That's too specific for a Baku."
He giggled and smirked.
"I can't wait an hour to have lunch." Jude said.
His hands were firm on his wound whiles one hand was fidgeting his phone.
"Hey, it looks like someone's in those hills." My dad said, squinting his eyes in the direction of the hills.
There was a thin snaky thread of smoke coming out of the forest of the hills.
"That might be the only person not sleeping." He said. He got into the car and turn off the car engine and start it again. "and perhaps that's the answer to this show."
As we were about to join him in the car, Minerva crouch and placed her pointing finger on her lips.
She quickly crept towards us to her motorcycle as we watched her silently.
"We've got a runner, heading towards those hills." She whispered and quickly wore her helmet.
"Who?" Jude asked.
She did not answer. She started her bike and drive ahead of us.
We followed her in a good pace. She rode her bike slowly and stopped when we got to curb just beside the foot of the hill.
We heard rushing foot steps in the distance. It kept moving away from us as the sound became less in every step.
We followed the sounds of the steps until we didn't hear it anymore.
