New beginnings

"I must become stronger! Its never enough! I won't lose... I refuse to fall anymore!"

Those thoughts were the only words racing through that mind of hers. She leaped from tree branch to tree branch. Through the leaves she ran, with the branches swaying furiously, brushing at her sides.

"I must be as stealthy as my shadow... As swift as the howling wind"

She held her longbow with a firm grip, and swung her hand over her left shoulder, reaching for an arrow. She came to an abrupt halt on the next branch, as she squatted down to take aim.

"I will not allow you to escape..."

Her breathing was silent, and her words.. Nothing more then a sweet whisper. She had her gaze fixed on a wild beast. A wolf to be exact. She lowered her head, and sharply threw it backwards, flicking her hair out of her face.

As her fingers slipped from the wire, releasing the arrow at a rapid speed, her eyes instantly widened.
The arrow she had only fired a second ago, before her eyes, deteriorated and then vanished into thin air.

"My arrow..." She whispered. The beast caught her with one glance, soon dashing off as her eyes narrowed. The leaves rustled to her right, causing her head to jerk and catching her attention.

"I do not care much for formalities!" She announced. "Step out and face me!"

"Or what?" The voice was male, deep as well. Just from the sound, she was able to paint a detailed picture of the man in her mind.

"Or I'll simply kill you" the man cackled at her threat.

"Oh? You are telling me you have changed that much?" He laughed. "Why is that women lie? Answer me this..... Kagome"

Kagome's narrowed eyes widened once again. She swung her bow across her body, breaking the branches to her side. The figure sprung out through the tree tops with the branches he once sat on slowly plumetting to the ground.

"Hm.. Maybe you were telling the truth after all?"

"No... It couldn't be..."

"Kagome, we need to talk"

"Sesshomaru...!?"

Her voice cracked, with her sentence falling short.

"I believe it has been a while?"

"Yes, five years to be exact..." She answered. "What is it that you want?"

As he hovered in the air above her for another couple of seconds, he floated down onto the same branch she was now standing on.

"The Jewel's powers..."

"...Are long gone-"

"...Rest inside you"

Sesshomaru pointed to her chest, close to her heart. Kagome slapped his hand away from her, and procceeded to jump from branch to branch until she reached ground level.

"I have known this for a while, which means other creatures will be aware of this fact also" he became more stern with that sentence.

"I don't care.. So why is it that you do?" She asked, continuing her exit. Sesshomaru appeared before her, gripping her wrist with great strength.

"Preventing me from leaving?" She asked. "How unlike you"

His eyes were enchanting, so much so, that every time she was caught staring into them... She felt as if she were spellbound. Kagome wore a dark cloak, made by an extremely powerful worlock within an elven tribe.
