RANDI'S P.O.V.
"GET OUTTA HERE! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR UGLY ASS!" My sister yells in my ear. "I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU OR YOUR FRIEND IN THIS HOUSE!" I look at my friend Melody Zara Lux, but I call her Bubbles. She's my friend. We're in a group called The Greasers, but we don’t talk to all of them. I also should tell you some stuff about me. My name is Hazel Randi Scott, I go by Randi though. I really hate my first name. The only one who knows my first name is Melody. I'm 15, and Melody is my only friend. My mom and dad died when I was 10, they got in a car wreck so now my sister looks after me. My sister abuses me, she hates my guts.
I wear all black, combat boots, and a leather jacket, with jet black hair that goes over my left eye. I also have a scar that goes down my neck. Melody and I walk out to my car and drive off. "Randi, you can't drive yet!" I shrug. "I don't care. Come on, let's go to The Alley." She sighs and puts her headphones in, probably listening to The Ready Set or All Time Low. I laugh and turn on my own music in the car, which is obviously Fall Out Boy. Once we pull into The Alley, Melody went to a corner and slid down the wall with her head in her hands. I know not to bother at a time like this, I've felt that pain before.
LUX'S P.O.V.
"So what happened?" A mysterious voice asks me. I look into his smoky blue eyes and somehow I fell secure, like everything doesn't hurt. I really don’t want him to know about me or my past, I might like him and I know if he knew what really happened he wouldn't see me in the same way. That and the fact he is a complete stranger who would just see me as inferior or I will make him sad. I really don't want to do that. The only one who knows the real truth about me is my "sister" Randi, and she doesn't even really care about me. Somehow I feel I can just tell him, the atmosphere he gives off. It took me two years to feel this close with Randi. Just something about him seems so refreshing and draws me in.
"I'm fine, there is nothing wrong." I say trying to be convincing. I saw a sympathetic look on his face that says 'I'm not buying it.' He places his warm hand on my lower thigh generating sparks through my body. "You can be honest with me, I won't tell or judge you." He says. He looks me in the eyes still generating warmth to my thigh with his hand. I turn my head away trying to get away from his spell he's putting me under. He uses his other hand to pull my face towards his, our lips almost grazing. I feel his warm breath spreading through out my icy cool cheeks as he spoke, "You aren’t alone, I know how you feel. I just want to help." I look back up to him for reassurance, to see if his emotions fit what he was saying. His warm lips graze past mine again sending shivers down my spine. His eyes flicker over my lips, then mine for reassurance.
"What's your name?" I ask. "Sodapop Curtis, but you can just call me your future boyfriend." He says acting cocky. "What will I be then? Number ninety six?" I ask sarcastically. "No, actually you will be number ninety eight." He says. He passes along a sexual smirk that I gladly return. "You would actually be my first girlfriend, I date a lot but I never have really found someone I like." He says. Is he flirting with me? That can't be true, nobody likes me like that I'm me.
"You really want to know what happened?" I ask. He nodded taking his hand from my thigh leaving it to be cool and alone again. "Well I never met my mom or my dad, they died when I was really young, so I was put into foster care." I say. I start playing with my ring to help control my nerves and gain the courage to move on. "The last home I was in had a boy about 5 years older than I was at the time, 13. He was kind and treated me like I was important and that I belong." I continue tears threating to come out but I manage to hold on. I clear my throat and continue, "One night when my parents were out of town he kissed me, and I let him. We kissed for a while until things got deeper, then he started to touch me. Then he also started removing clothing, I told him it was too far and he didn't listen. He forced me to sleep with him. My foster parents found out the next day and he blamed me. I was kicked out of my home and they didn't bother to put me back into the system. My friend took me in and her abusive sister just kicked us out, so I guess we're homeless." At this point I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, after fourteen years of never showing pain and trying to always make sure someone smiles and my pain never surfaced ruined. I cried. The even more surprising part is that Soda hugged me. Not a 'I want to get in your pants' hug, but a genuine hug that tells me he really cares.

I walk to the skate park across from the Alley. No one's there so I get it all to myself,,, sweet! After I was done I bump into someone, causing me to fall on my butt. "Sorry! Didn't see you!" The mystery person says. "Heh, it’s fine. I'm sorry as well." I look up and see a boy with jet black hair and tan skin standing in front of me. "Here, take my hand." He says holding out his hand for me to take. I take it gently as he pulls me up. "I'm Johnny, what's your name?" "Hazel, but people call me Randi because of my middle name." Johnny smiles. "Hazel is a cute name." I blush and look down.
LUX'S P.O.V.
"Why is Johnny talking to her?" Sodapop suddenly asks. "What's wrong with her?" I ask wondering what has been said about my best friend. "She's just bad news." He says. I felt fury burn up inside me. I slap Sodapop in the cheek and run to talk to Randi. I approach her and get a better look at the boy she was speaking with. Not bad Randi, not bad. "Who's this Randi?" I ask. "This is Johnny, Johnny this is Lux." She introduces. Suddenly a gang of boys approach us, including Sodapop. I can still see where I slapped him. "Why are you talking to her?" A boy who looked like a smaller version of Soda asks. "I don't see anything wrong with her." Johnny plainly answers. "We need to talk to you Johnny, and why don't you come too blonde?" A tall, dark, and admirably hot guy asks. Soda pulls my arm away from Randi and Johnny follows.
The tall boy begins to speak once we are earshot away from Randi, "So Soda tells me you and your friend needs a place to crash." I look at him confusingly. If he is talking about me and my friend needing a place to stay then why am I being pulled away from her to talk about it? "Well you heard right." I say. "Well is she here?" The "mini pop" asks. "You actually just pulled Johnny and I away from her." I say. All of their faces changed from helpful to disgusted, well all except for Johnny and I. "Well you van stay but we can’t allow her to stay." The tall one says. "Why not?" I ask. Well really, why not? I know Randi has done some bad stuff but she has never done anything bad to her own.
"She hurt Ponyboy." Soda says. "Who's Ponyboy?" I ask. "My little brother, the one who is standing to my left." Soda says. Oh, the cute one. Great. He actually looks familiar, like I've seen him before, maybe in a rumble. Rumble, rumble, rumble, Greasers, Socs. We saved him from the Socs one night a couple months back. He's the one who hit his head about three times before the ambulance could even come. I walk away from the group to go talk to her about this. It may help her understand the way people have been treating her lately.
"Randi?" I ask. "Yeah?" She says. "The greasers over there want me to stay with them, they wanted you too, but there is a small issue." I say. I start twisting my ring around and round trying to calm my nerves. "What's the issue?" Randi asks. "You know the tiny brunette boy we saved a couple months back? Well, everybody thinks you were the one who hurt him." I say. I twisted my ring so much my finger was raw. Randi looks at me with a crazy look in her eyes. "WHAT THE FUCK!? I SAVED HIM! I DIDN'T BEAT HIM!" She yells. "Randi, the yelling isn't really helping your case right now. What do I do though? I don't want to leave you alone to go stay in a house!" I say. Tears were threatening to slide down my rosy cheeks. "I am going to say this in the nicest way possible but you can't survive on the streets, with or without me helping you." She says. I'm not going to lie, that was some tough love. It hurt but at least she is always honest with me. I might as well be a marshmallow. I'm about as tuff as one. I let the tears fall for the second time tonight. "W-What are you saying?" I choke out. "I'm saying you should take the offer." She says. "But R-" I am cut off by being pulled away.
I was pulled away from my friendship, and my best friend. I didn't see who was taking me away but I did get a glimpse of the tall dude going toward Randi. They were really loud, from what I could make out this is what I heard him say to her: "Listen here you little shit, you better stay from Ponyboy, your friend, the group, and especially Johnny!" The last thing I remember seeing is Johnny and I looking back at Randi wishing we weren't being pulled away from the rest of the group. I wasn't ashamed to cry anymore, and from what I could tell neither was Johnny.
