Levi nursed his coffee gratefully as he headed out to his car after work. He didn't usually drink it this late in the day unless he had a large, ongoing project, but he wanted to be sure he had plenty of energy for tonight. He and Smith had reached a point in their interaction where the intensity and the desire to go all out was growing session by session. So Levi gulped at the caffeinated nectar of the gods for encouragement. Every second of his free time today had been occupied with thoughts of what Dr. Smith might do tonight. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been brimming with so much anticipation.

He'd only been able to push thoughts of Dr. Smith aside today when he came across a promising portfolio from a job applicant. She had talent and promise, and Levi was impressed by her work. Even an entry-level hire would help relieve the strain his team was feeling by being one designer short. Therefore, he felt he could breathe easier once he'd arranged a phone interview with the applicant. The rest of the day seemed to run smoother thanks to that glimmer of positivity.

He'd also received a phone call from a client who was thrilled with a recently finished project. He'd offered Levi an invitation to a formal gala on the grounds of the new property. The glowing praise softened Levi up enough to accept the invite. It had been a while since he'd attended any lavish public functions. They weren't his favorite activity, but he wasn't opposed to a night of eating expensive food, while wearing expensive clothes. There were more opportunities to mingle with the wealthy than he'd expected when he'd started in the architectural field. As thrilling as the thought was, however, Levi couldn't dwell on it for long. He'd been too preoccupied thinking about getting to the club, to meet with his doctor.

It took great restraint to keep from speeding down the streets that night, even though he wasn't late this time. He began unbuttoning his shirt as he walked down the hallway toward the makeshift hospital room. He kicked the door shut and quickly shimmied out of his clothes, crumpling them up and stuffing them into a cupboard. He usually folded them meticulously but he was in too much of a hurry to bother. He pulled on the gown and dropped onto the hospital chair this time instead of the bed. His hope was that Smith would guide him to the bed with a hand on his back or shoulder. Lastly, he strategically wrapped his hands around his crossed knees to look more vulnerable.

After the lecture he had given Smith at the end of their last visit, he was fairly obligated to use his mouth on Levi tonight, or the other way around. He breathed deeply in the minutes that followed, trying to calm down his eagerness a bit. It worked, and thankfully he was much calmer by the time the soft knock came at the door. When Smith walked into the room, Levi's hopes died just a little; he was still wearing his mask. Levi could only hope that he would not be leaving it on for long. The twinkle in those blue eyes told him that Smith had a plan.

"Good evening, Robbie."

"Smith." They shook hands as always, and Dr. Smith settled into his usual relaxed position on the rolling chair.

"How are you?" Levi shrugged.

"Excellent and full of caffeine." Dr. Smith flipped open that damn chart that he insisted on updating during every exam.

"How's that?"

"Had a coffee before coming here. I needed a boost."

"Oh?" Smith asked, eyes growing concerned. "Another long day? Additional stressors?" Levi shook his head, fighting an evil grin.
