You say it every day now
I know I get spaced out
In a conversation
Yeah, it's been a hard year
You say that I don't hear
All the words you're saying
And it makes you miss me
Even when you're with me
Feels like something's broken
I know I've been acting
Easily distracted
You wish I could focus

"Y/n?"

I blink at her a few times snapping out of my daze and hum, "Sorry what?" She rolls her eyes hands on hips as she gives me a stern glare, "Are you even listening to me?" I don't say anything as I just blink at her while staring into her eyes trying to give her a cute smile. She sighs and rubs her temples, "You need to stop spacing out during our conversations. You hardly listen to me anymore". I just watch her as she tiredly runs her hands through her hair, "Ever since your injury it hasn't been the same. It feels like something's broken".

You could see how tired she really was. Between constant soccer practice, re inc and making sure I was okay and bring me to therapy it was taking a toll on her. The bags under her eyes were evident of that.

She lets out another heavy sigh now looking at me sadly, "I miss our talks when we could talk about anything and everything. Now you barely hear a word I say. I miss my best friend".

I can't help but wince at that. If only she knew she was the reason I kept spacing out. I mean how could I stay focused when I have a literal angel in front of me. I wish I could focus but how do you expect me to not get distracted when I can't help but look at how beautiful she is. Well it's kinda hard when your in love with your best friend.

You think that I don't notice
How you brush your hair out of your green eyes
The way you blush when you drink red wine
The way you smile when you try to bend the truth
You think that I don't notice
All the songs you sing underneath your breath
You still tear up at a beach sunset
And you dance just like you're the only one in the room
You think that I don't notice, but I do
(I do, yeah, I do, yeah)

"I'm sorry" I apologize as I bite the inside of my cheek as I stare up at her. "Well it needs to stop!" She snaps obviously fed up. "You need to start paying attention! God I feel like you barely even notice me anymore!" She yells throwing up her arms.

I scoff at her in disbelief, "Oh come off it!" She now glares at me crossing her arms, "Well it's true". I let out a bitter laugh as I stand and move in front of her narrowing my eyes at her, "You don't think I pay attention to you? You think I don't notice how you always brush your hair out of your green eyes because you rather constantly brush your hair behind your ear than tying it up. Or how you immediately blush when your drinking red wine and get all giggly after it. Or how the right corner of your mouth twitches upwards in a smile when you try to lie which your horrible at".

At that party last night
Baby, I don't know why
I forgot to mention
You were looking drop-dead
Not even a contest
Center of attention
If I had to say every time you looked amazing
You'd think I was joking
But I brag about you
When I'm not around you
You don't even know it

"How about at that Re Inc party? You think I didn't notice how drop dead gorgeous you looked. It was no contest you were the centre of attention. But anytime I said it you would brush it off thinking I was joking" I keep going. What she didn't know was I brag about her even when she's not around. But she doesn't need to know about that. How did I stand a chance at holding a conversation if I couldn't help but stare at the sparkle in your eyes.

"The way you sing under your breath when you think no one's listening but I always do. How you can't resist watching a beach sunset and the sunlight making your face glow even more than you already do". A smile spreads across my face as I let out a chuckle, "Or how you dance like there's no one else in the room watching. You don't care as you swing around with a big smile plastered on your face".

See it all, and I keep on falling for you every night
Over and over again
It's my fault that I don't remind you every day of your life
You're perfect
(I do, yeah, I do, yeah)

"I see it all. I notice all these little things about you that I can't help but notice. All these cute quirks that make you, you. I notice it all. I fall more and more in love with you every single day and all I can think about is telling you how perfect you are everyday for the rest of your life. You say I don't pay attention but I do. A lot. How can I stay focused when your standing in front of me?"

Christen just stares at me shocked but once she gets over it she shakes her head and giggles, "You know for all the things you noticed about me. You missed the biggest one". I tilt my head at her as I tried to think what I missed. Christen smiles and steps closer to me, "You didn't notice I was in love with you too".

My breath hitches as she smiles at me coming even closer. Without any time to think christen smashes her lips into mine. As usual Christen clouds my thoughts as she can't think of anything else. But now instead of imaging how her lips would feel against mine. I now close my eyes and try to commit the feeling to memory. Her faces delicately cup my face while mine hold her wrist as I try to anchor myself. I just get lost in it as I nothing else registers. I barely even notice that I need air only realising when she pulls away as I'm left breathless and panting.

She grins at me, "What? Have nothing to say now?" But I don't say anything. My mind was a jumble all my thoughts muddled up. Instead my eyes flicker from her stunning green eyes down to her lips. "Want to know one more thing I noticed?" I breath out. "What? That I'm a good kisser?" She teases making us both laugh but I shake my head as I lean back in again, "I noticed that you biting your lip like that makes me want to kiss you even more".

She grins as her hands drop from my face and instead move around my neck pulling me even more impossibly close to her. Even with her voice barely above a whisper I can still hear her.

"Well what's stopping you?"
