Chapter: nine [9]

Regina:
I woke up to a message from Emma. I decided first to go and get ready for the day before I opened Emma's message so I went into the bathroom and took a long shower.

***1 hour later***
I'm looking at my self in the mirror. Satisfied with the way I look, I head down stairs sliding my phone into my back pocket of my jeans. I enter the kitchen to see Kyle sitting there with a bowl of cereal. I go and grab a bowl and sit beside Kyle. "Morning sis, you been in bed today for a long time than usual. Is everything alright?" Kyle says directly looking in my eyes. " umm yeah am fine. I just have a headache, nothing else" I say with a fake smile. "If u say so Gina" Kyle says. I know that he knows than I'm lying but he didn't push it. I thank him under my breath and finish my bowl of cereal. Since its a Saturday I decided to go meet up with Emma and to get Analia so we can go out and have fun.

I was in front of the Emma's house front door. I knocked on the door two times and when I was about to knock the third time, Emma opened the door. I was about to say hi when Em pulled me inside and dragged me up to her room. "Em, whats going on? why do you look so panicked?" I asked Emma curiously. "Did you not get my text?" Emma asks. "Oh shit. Yeah I did I forgot to read it, hold on" I say and pull out my phone from my jeans pocket and unlocks it. I open Emma's message which says "stay away from Owen as possible he is dangerous than you think. Text me back as quick as possible!"

I lift my head up from the phone to look Emma. I had one eyebrow lift up. "What?" Em ask confusedly. "Do you like Owen?" I ask with a big grin on my face. "Over my dead body, eww gross I will never love a heartless monster like Owen, even if we are the only two people alive in this world. I would rather be alone!" Em says while being disgusted. I let out a laugh but the way she said it got me thinking, she sounded like she knew something about Owen we didn't, most importantly she sounded like she knew Owen before. We decided to call Analia and spend the whole day in Emma's house.

After and hour Analia came. We all spent the whole day watching one movie after another while eating snacks. We haven't had this much fun together in ages.

I realized it was starting to get dark. I got up and got my things and left Emma's house. After I walked for five minutes I started hearing the footsteps again. From Em's house to my house is a 20 minute walk. I was walking as fast as I can when I my phone vibrated. It was a massage from Kyle. "Where are u its already dark! Get home right now" I read the message and when I was about to put my phone into my pocket it vibrated again with a new text. "Why are you walking so fast beautiful?" The message was from the unknown number. I realized he is the person who is following me all along. Even the time I got back from the mall not long ago. I put my phone into my jeans pocket and started to think why he is doing this to me specifically and what I did so wrong to deserve this. I got lost in my thoughts and completely forgot about the footsteps.

Im three minutes away from the house when reality its me. I realized I don't hear any more footsteps from the back so l slowly turned around to make sure if he is there are or not and to my surprise he was gone.

I head inside and see Kyle impatiently waiting for me in the living room. After a second Kyle noticed my presence and asked "where did you go?" "I was at Emma's relax!" I say annoyed while heading upstairs to my room. I got into more comfortable clothes and got into bed with my PC to watch the series I started to watch from Netflix the other night

***1 hour later***
I heard my mum calling us down for dinner. I went down stairs and ate dinner and help mum clean up as usual. Apart from hearing footsteps, nothing unusual happened that night. Relieved,  I head up stairs and get in bed and drift to sleep.

***next morning***
I woke up to the sound of someone banging on my bedroom door. I looked at the clock while getting up to realize it really early in the morning. I opened the door to reveal my mum standing there, with a worried look. "Mum is anything wrong?" I asked confused. My mum start to tear up a little and says "honey am so sorry Emma was murdered last night." I couldn't believe what was happening so I broke down.
