CHAPTER ONE:
THE HYDRA BASE

SAPPHIRE FLEW THE JET, LANDING it on the snow covered ground. She got ready for the mission ahead, something that would be simple and easy. Or so she thought. She place her guns and knives into her belt before nodding to herself and making her way out of the jet. She crept through the woods that led to the base, her eyes making sure to be alert.

She was excited, and she wasn't really sure why. It was a normal mission, one that she had been on a thousand times before. Maybe it was the fact that she got to do this one, knowing how reluctant Phil was letting the girl go by herself. However, Sapphire could take care of herself. If she was in a dangerous situation, she knew how to easily escape. Well, most of the time.

Sapphire kept her gun in her hand, ready to sue it if she needed to. Her heart was beating in her chest, trying to keep her warm underneath the negative degree weather that was taking place outside. Thee HYDRA base that she was looking for was placed all the way in Russia, so of course it took her the last three days of December to get to the country. And it just so happened that January was one of the coldest months in Russia. Of course.

The cat suit was not something that kept her all that warm, however she wasn't going to complain. It kept most of her body warm enough that she would be able to survive without getting frostbite. Well, she couldn't really say that for her hands, but she would push through it like she always did. Hopefully it didn't come down to that though.

When she saw the hidden base, she smirked. This was going to be easier than she thought. As far as she could see, there were no soldiers guarding the place. Sapphire made sure to look over her shoulder every now and then in case someone tried to attack. She made it to the back, knowing that going through the front was always a stupid idea. She used a scanner to help her enter the building without having to touch the keypad. She pulled the metal door open, and quickly squeezed her way inside in order to avoid the door squeaking any louder than it already has.

Sapphire kept her eyes alert and her gun ready, her shoulders were tense and she kept herself pressed against the wall as she continued further and further into the base. To her surprise she hadn't seen any agents, at all. She furrowed her eyebrows. That was unusual. She frowned at this before keeping her stance and continuing deeper and deeper. Her eyes fell upon a glass room placed a story above. She looked up at it, making out the words "CAUTION" on it in bright red letters. She smirked before turning to the stairs case and quietly running up them, grabbing the railing to the second floor once she could reach it, flipping herself over it.

She looked around, once again noticing how empty the base was. This made her nerves slowly start to rise. There had to be someone, there always was. HYDRA wasn't careless when it came to their property, quite frankly they were extremely protective over it. She made her way to the glass room, stopping right beside of it and sticking her from the corner to get a look inside. It was empty. She frowned at this and removed herself from the wall, making sure to keep her gun ready.

She entered the lab, looking around the room before her eyes fell on a glass case. Inside of it contained five vial's of ice blue serum. That was what she needed. Maybe she would complete this mission without having any run in's after all. She opened the case, picking up one of the vial's and taking a moment to examine it. She had to admit, for a serum it was a really pretty color. She shook the distracting thought away before taking the other vial's and then closing the case. She kept them secured in her belt and turned, quickly raising her gun when she saw man in a white lab coat standing there.

"Pretty isn't it?" He asked her. He took another step forward and she cocked the gun. "Yes, well, it's only a prototype. It has yet to be tested." A thoughtful crossed his face before he smiled at the brunette. "Would you like to be the first to try it. It would bring you a great honor."

"I don't think so." Sapphire spat.

"Oh please. I insist." He begged, a wicked smile falling on his face. Sapphire opened her mouth to respond, but a gasp fell from her lips as she felt a needle insert itself into her neck. She became paralyzed, falling to the floor. The man who had paralyzed her grabbed the vial's from her person whilst the doctor knelt down in front of her. "Thank you, Miss Simmons, you will be a wonderful test taker. I can feel it."

She couldn't respond. She couldn't move anything. And suddenly fear coursed through her veins when she realized who's grasp she was now in. Who's game she was now a pawn of. She let out hums that were meant to be curses. The doctor frowned mockingly at this.

"I don't believe I understand." He gave her a smile, patting her shoulder. "Do not worry, you will be in the best of care." He stood up before looking at the other man, giving him the nod of the head. "возьми ее" (take her.) The man nodded before walking over to the girl and lifting her up into her grasp, the last thing Sapphire being able to see was the smirk that was placed viciously on the scientists face.

Here's the first chapter of Frostbite! Also, thank you to -wandascarlett for making the intro gif for me! I'm basically going to make each chapter of this section a new month so that you can see how things grow and grow over the several months that she is with HYDRA. I might also flip over to Jemma's point of view to show you how's she's handling the situation. Also, when it gets to probably June, that's when AOS is going to start taking place in this story, so I might give a brief rundown of what's happening there as well.

I have also decided to start this book in season 1 as well instead of season two, but Saph won't come in till like halfway between season 1. Anyways, comment, vote, follow!
