CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT:
IT'S TIMEDAISY AND SAPPHIRE STOOD THERE, fists held in front of them as they continued to fight with one another. Daisy was good, Sapphire had to admit that. Of course the woman had been trained by May who was the best of all of them, but Sapphire had been trained by May even before she became known as The Calvary. May had been her trainer when she was first starting out, so Sapphire knew better and would expect any on coming attack. It was her specialty as May like to say. So when Daisy ran her fists forwards, Sapphire quickly grabbed it, jumping up and wrapping her legs around Daisy's waist before throwing her to the ground, and quickly climbing on top of her.
Sapphire looked down at Daisy, both of them were heavily breathing as they stared at one another. A small smirk started to pull at the corner of Sapphire's lips just like it always did whenever they would fight and she would win. She swallowed thickly, a strand of lose hair falling into her face. "Got ya," She whispered. "This is the third time in a row, Daisy. I'm starting to think that you're letting me win."
Daisy smiled. "Please, if I was letting you win, you'd know. You're just a lot stronger than me and clearly have a lot of more years of training under your belt. I've only been here a few years you know. Once and a while you could go easy on me."
Sapphire cocked her head mockingly. "Now, why would I do that? That takes all of the fun out of it." She let go of Daisy's wrist and before she could do anything, Daisy was grabbing hold of her, throwing her off of her and onto the ground. Now it was Daisy who was pinning her down on the mat.
"Got ya," She repeated Sapphire's words.
Sapphire looked at her, impressed. "Well, look at you. Finally starting to learn a thing or two." She nodded slightly. "Anything else you wanna show me that you've learned?" Daisy nodded. Sapphire should've expected it, in fact she had expected it, yet when it happened her breath was still taken away. Daisy had leaned down, pressing her lips to Sapphire who smiled as she kissed back. This woman had her wrapped around her finger, and Sapphire couldn't help but be glad it was her and not someone else that Daisy was kissing.
Daisy pulled away, her eyes never leaving Sapphire's. "How was that? It's something I just recently learned. Not sure if I've mastered it yet."
Sapphire, who was still trying to catch her breath, nodded. "Well, I'm sure that there's no harm in a little more practice. You can never go wrong with a little more practice."
"I couldn't agree more." She leaned back down and pressed her lips back to Sapphire's who had met her half way. This is what it had been like the past few days, it was relaxing for Sapphire to say the least. Being able to control her powers, learning more and more about them with each passing day, whilst also being able to fall for Daisy more and more as they did teenage stuff like this. It was relaxing to Sapphire. The brunette had been through a lot, and when she had been rescued, it had been hard at first. And though she still suffered from nightmares and memories of what happened to her, she was surrounded by her people. She was reunited with her baby sister and her bestfriend, and she came back gaining more than she had when she left. She had a girlfriend that loved her with her whole heart and she had a boss that made it his daily mission to make her laugh. Sapphire was happy, and that's something she hasn't had the chance to experience in a really really long time.
Pressing one more kiss to Daisy's lips, Sapphire pulled away and brushed the hair out of Daisy's face. "As much as I would love to continue doing this all day and for the rest of my life, if my sister or Fitz walks in, I will never hear the end of it and then I'll have to murder either my own blood or my sister's bestfriend."
Daisy sighed but nodded in under standing. She forced herself up from the floor, grabbing Sapphire's outstretched hand and pulling her up from the ground as well. "Fine. However, I expect this to be continued later."
"I could never leave something so important unfinished." She gave her a wink and Daisy had to look down at the ground to keep the blush from forming on her cheeks. Sapphire pulled her hair from it's pony tail, running her hands through it before focusing on the target that was still slightly damp from where she had been training with her powers earlier.
Daisy turned to look at her, furrowing her eyebrows as she watched the brunette. There was something on her mind, something she wanted to say or do. Daisy walked over to her, placing her hands in her pockets. "Hey, you alright?"
Sapphire nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I'm alright. I was just thinking."
"What about?"
Sapphire hesitated for a moment before tearing her eyes away from the target and looking over at Daisy. She knew that it was time. It had been kept secret long enough. "I think it's time."
Immediately Daisy knew what she was talking about. "Are you sure?"
Sapphire nodded. "I can't keep this from them anymore. Especially not May. She's my best friend. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she already knew."
"You know, I haven't seen her around in awhile."
"Me either." Sapphire hummed. "She's probably on a mission. She's almost always on a mission. Doesn't matter. Whenever she gets back, I'm going to tell her. I'm going to tell Coulson. I'm going to tell everyone I trust."
Daisy nodded and grabbed her hand. "And I'll be there by your side as you do it." Sapphire smiled at her, squeezing her hand as a thanks before the two made their way from the training room and went in search for the people who needed to know her secret.
