CHAPTER TWELVE:
YOU PROMISEDSHE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE out of bed. In fact, she knew that if May knew she was up and walking around, the woman would kill her. Sapphire knew that she needed her rest, but quite frankly she was a little upset that May had injected her with a sedative to make her calm down and pass out again. So, maybe this was her being rebellious, but she couldn't stay in that room any longer without having the chance to let her sister know that she was alive.
She walked down the halls, carefully glancing around to make sure no one could see her. She wasn't going to get out of her room only to get caught and dragged back to her room to be monitored. She promised herself that she would after she saw her sister, because quote frankly her entire body ached in pain, and she was just a little dizzy but she was very weak. She had been drained of so much nutrients whilst in that place, she quite honestly didn't know how she was still alive and breathing.
Sapphire stood behind the corner, watching as Jemma talked with Daisy―︎a woman Sapphire didn't know―︎and watching the interaction with a gentle smile and tears in her eyes as she looked at her little sister that she hadn't seen in so long. She blinked the tears away, taking a deep breath before revealing herself. "Jemma Simmons, my, you are a sight for sore eyes."
Jemma was quick to turn away from Daisy in surprise when she heard her sisters voice. Maybe she was hearing things, but when she saw Sapphire standing there, her hands on her hips and a teasing smile falling on her lips, she covered her mouth with her hand as tears filled her eyes. "Saph?"
"Hey, Jem." She whispered. Jemma was quick to run towards the woman, tackling her into a hug and crying. Sapphire tightly hugged her back, not caring about the pain that shot through her abdomen at the strong force of the hug. "I've missed you."
"You promised you would be back within days." Jemma spoke, Daisy glanced between the two before the smallest of smiles fell on her face as she quickly turned on her heels and walked away in hopes of giving the two some privacy. "I told you not to go. I told you not to go alone."
"I know." Sapphire whispered. She pulled away, Jemma standing in front of her. She smiled, placing her hands gently on her sisters face as she rubbed her thumb across her cheeks. "I'm sorry for being gone so long." Jemma scoffed, a tear rolling down her cheek as she rolled her eyes causing Sapphire to swipe it away.
"I'm sorry for not being able to find you sooner." Jemma whispered, but Sapphire quickly shook her head.
"No, it's not your fault. I knew what I was getting into." Sapphire told her. She gave her sister a kiss on the top of the head. "I have to go lay down before May sees me, I'm not supposed to be out of bed."
"O-okay." Jemma nodded. Sapphire offered her sister a soft smile. "I'm glad you're back, Saph."
"Me too." Sapphire smiled before turning on her heel and walking away.

Sapphire sat in the hospital bed, messing with her thumbs as she hummed softly to herself. She looked up when Phil entered, making a bright smile fall on her face.
"Phil!" She smiled. The man smiled back at her.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like I got hit with a bus." She answered truthfully.
"So, a quick catch up." Phil told her. "We've been compromised, Daisy is a hacker and has powers, and you're apart of my little band of misfits. Only if you want, of course."
"Hell yeah." Sapphire nodded. "Who's Daisy?" She paused before remembering her sister had called that brunette she was talking to earlier Daisy.
"You feeling alright enough to walk around?" Phil questioned.
"Always." Sapphire answered before once again taking the IV from her arm and standing up. "I got up earlier to see Jemma."
"Don't let May know that." Phil mused. She chuckled before following the man out of the room. She couldn't help but have a sense of nostalgia as she walked through the plane, taking a moment to notice how a few parts here and there were different. Her attention was then moved towards the sounds of several different voices, the team lounging on the some of the seats and talking with one another. When Phil came into view, the group all turned to look at them.
"Sapphire, here's my team." Phil told her, Sapphire stepping out from behind him. May and Jemma gave her a small smile whilst Fitz looked at her with wide eyes, Jemma clearly having not told him about the woman's return. He stood up and quickly pulled her into a hug, making her let out a laugh.
"Hey, Fitz." She smiled, pulling away.
"When did you get back?"
"A day or two ago? I've only been up for a few hours." Sapphire smiled back. She gave the male a pat on the shoulder as he sat back down.
"Obviously you know May, Fitz, and Simmons."
"Obviously." She rolled her eyes, though she had a sarcastic smile on her face.
"I didn't miss that." Phil spoke, earning a look of amusement from her. He then turned towards the other female, the one that had entered her room earlier and the one she had freaked out on. "And then we have the hacker and the woman with more power than all of us combined, Daisy."
"Hi." The girl waved.
"Daisy, since you're the only one that doesn't know her, this is Agent Sapphire Simmons."
"Wait, Simmons?" Daisy questioned, looking between Jemma and Sapphire. "As in. . ."
"My older sister." Jemma nodded.
"It's nice to meet you, Daisy." Sapphire smiled before taking a seat beside of her sister and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Jemma placed her head on Sapphire's shoulder, making her smile.
