"There's no way the two of us can take them on alone. Let's recruit more allies!" Aqua exclaimed while slamming her hands down on the table.

Anna just swung back to drink deep from her mug. The past few hours had drained her. After they had entered the city as a duo, asking around had led them to a mansion-like building referred to as the 'Adventurer guild', it was supposedly a place where Y/N and herself could sign up to be "adventurers" in this strange new world. However, just outside the building they had came across a woman wearing an elaborate dress whose shades of light and dark blue exemplified the feeling of fantasy and cheerfulness; with the colour of her hair being light blue. She seemed to be absorbed in some sort of silent contemplation while sitting against the wall of the guild, evidently she wasn't happy about something.

When the duo had approached her, she had immediately leapt up demanding them to confess whether they were those who had managed to reach this world 'without reincarnation'. When they had tentatively answered in the affirmative, that launched the strange woman into a fit of rage as she grabbed Y/N's tie and began shaking him around while whining loudly about how their presence had apparently resulted in her being 'kicked out of heaven until the Demon King is defeated'.

Luckily, Anna had managed to prevent any conflict from breaking out and all the details were explained to them in a few minutes. As she understood it Aqua, the 'goddess of water' (as the woman insisted), was sent from heaven and into the world to investigate the circumstances by which they had arrived here without dying and being reborn (which was apparently the usual route of arrival). In addition, she was also given the task of accompanying them until they had defeated the 'Demon King' before she would be able to return to her home.

With that explanation, the duo formed a reluctant alliance with the goddess before entering the guild as a trio.

The registration room reminded her of a sort of entrance to a fairground, with its stalls at the very end built out of grey cobblestone. Along the walls, occasional ornate statues in shining metal could be seen, as they were sighted throughout the guild, the torches they had seen in the village motel were also present as a form of lighting. Similarly, imposing banners ran down the walls with fantastic glory. There was a sole lady who was sweeping the place with a broom. She smiled slightly as she saw them approach before inquiring what they were here for. After they had explained the fact that they sought to become adventurers, she explained that a base payment must be made to register as one, it was then that she was grateful that Y/N had hassled Aqua to pay for them in advance with the promise of future returns. The latter did so, albeitly with clear resistance.

Immediately after they had registered, going through the strange process of holding their hands over a spherical blue crystal (which turned slowly before emanating blinding blue light throughout the room) from which a little beam of light fell out from the bottom to fill out a small rectangular card for them. The women in charge of the process translated their stats to them verbally, requiring her to further translate it into German so it would be intelligible for Y/N, before explaining the general 'system' this world seem to run on.

"Adventurers have many jobs," the lady began, "this card," she said while holding up the filled in rectangular piece of paper Y/N had retrieved from underneath the strange crystal machine, "is known as your Adventurer Card, it keep track of the number of monsters you have eliminated. As you level up, you'll earn 'skill points' which can be used to learn 'skills', hence you should work hard to increase your level."

She then went onto saying that, according to her card, that she had a surprising talent for Magic in addition to higher-than-average health, dexterity, intelligence, and agility (likely a result of her being someone who had just come out of a war). Y/N was similar in his physical attributes, however, the lady did remark how his talent for magic was oddly low, the lowest ever recorded in this guild apparently. When she had translated the news to him in German, he simply shrugged before continuing to look of into space as if there was something else in his mind. She smiled inwardly, perhaps he was contemplating what the existence of magic would mean for him in this world.
