Jennie blinked, her gaze fixed on Taeyong's captivating brown eyes. What did he just say? Pause. Stop. Rewind. He couldn't possibly be serious, could he?
Her heart was throbbing frantically in her chest. Her initial inclination was to run into his arms and exclaim "yes!" but she didn't want to come across as overly excited, so she forced herself to remain cool. They seemed to be stuck in that position for an eternity.
Jennie remained as still as a statue till she regained her composure and grasped reality. This isn't a fairytale. Taeyong isn't a prince charming who will make you fall in love with him. Jennie chastised herself.
She raised her arms gingerly and placed them on Taeyong's shoulders. She softly pushed him away from her, and he gratefully backed out.
Jennie pointed a finger at Taeyong when he was a fair distance away from her.
"Is this some kind of prank of yours you want to test out?" Jennie reprimanded him, trying to maintain a stern expression on her face.
Taeyong looked at her with a remorseful expression on his face. "Did it work?" he inquired, a sheepish look on his face.
Jennie simply chuckled and shook her head. Taeyong looked like a little child who has been caught doing something wicked by his mother.

Taeyong's face became serious all of a sudden. In a quiet voice, he added, "I'm not joking Jen."
As soon as Jennie realized what Taeyong was saying, her face became white as a sheet. "You're....not?" Jennie enquired, baffled.
Taeyong shook his head and offered her a little smile. Jennie's mouth opened and closed numerous times, as if she were a goldfish ready to run out of oxygen.
For a little while, she was unable to speak. "Why me?" She finally blurted out, still unable to believe that Taeyong would make such a request.
"Why not?" Taeyong retorted. .
Why not? he's actually asking me why the hell not? Jennie marveled at Taeyong's question. He had so many girls at his disposal. She bet that he had a little black book filled with countless names of females.
Though she had dreamed about it for so long, she never really thought that she would be in this position right now receiving a marriage proposal from Taeyong- even if it was for all the wrong reasons.
"You can have any girl you want Taeyong, including those who are prettier, taller, and more sophisticated than me. I'm sure they'd do anything to be able to marry you. Why would you go for me?" She questioned him as she approached Taeyong
