As the maid took her inside Jaehyun and Chaeyoung's massive living room, Jennie was nervous. She sat down on one of the plush sofas and awaited for her best friend to come.
A few minutes later, Chaeyoung entered the room. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Her feet were encased in three inch heels, and she was dressed in a matching brown suit that hugged her curves in all the right ways. Jennie couldn't help but notice Chaeyoung's glow up since she became the mistress of Jung Co's CEO two years ago.
As she approached the couch where Jennie sat, Chaeyoung removed her shoes and hurled them across the room. She then abruptly flopped herself near Jennie and sigh.
"Those shoes are going to kill me," irritatingly Chaeyoung huffs. Jennie couldn't help but smile as she looked at her friend. She was relieved to learn that, despite her new and more sophisticated appearance, she remained the same old Chaeyoung she had known since middle school.
Chaeyoung turned to face Jennie, her feet tucked under her. "What did you want to talk about again?" Chaeyoung inquired.
Jennie fidgeted anxiously with her skirt, trying to come up with a method to bring up the matter with her beloved friend without triggering World War III.
"Taeyong and I had a conversation earlier today," Jennie slowly said.
Chaeyoung murmured, "And?"
"He informed me that his mother was considering giving the museum to him," Jennie explained.
Chaeyoung's eyes widened an inch at the news she had received. "That's great to hear," she remarked boredly. “I mean good for him, of course, it's bound to happen.” She added on in a much more high pitched gleeful tone.
Jennie chuckled at her friend before continuing, "However, there is one minor issue…”
Chaeyoung made a frowning expression. "And what might that be?"
"Before she hands over the museum to him, his mother wants him to get married," Jennie explained.
Chaeyoung grimaced sympathetically as she nodded her head. "Like an arrange marriage thing? Damn sucks to be him I guess."
"No, not really," Jennie added, "I think he has the freedom to marry anyone he wants as long as he gets married."
They were getting too close to the issue she wanted to avoid, and she was getting a little fidgety. It won't be long before Chaeyoung raises the terrible question to her.
"Who could he possibly be interested in marrying? Taeyong had never stayed with one female long enough to form even the appearance of a relationship in the first place. He's one of Korea's top playboys!" Chaeyoung whisper yelled.
