taeyong and jennie finally bid goodbye to vernon and somi as soon as the girls returned from the bathroom.

"i hope we could meet up again sometime. yknow some girls day out maybe." somi said with a wink as she gave jennie a hug.

"we can take you on a tour around the city." vernon suggested. "we'll show you the different interesting spots that only true blue new yorkers know about."

"that's a great idea." taeyong agreed. "thank you so much for the offer." he said with a smile. he extended his hand to both vernon and somi to bid them both goodbyes.

"we'll see you again soon!" jennie said smiling at the couple who had become their instant friends.

after waving goodbye, taeyong and jennie started heading down the sidewalk towards their apartment. they had not bothered taking the car as the restaurant was near enough and it had been a beautiful day to take a walk.

as they walked down the block taeyong reached out and took jennie's hand in his. jennie looked at him in surprise but she did not say anything. she looked down at their intertwined hands in wonder.

they've never really held hands before except during occasional affairs such as formal dinners for the museum where in people would be watching them. holding hands simply because they were walking on the street was something very new for jennie. the simple gesture exuded an aura of "togetherness" that jennie could not help but imagine that even for just a moment they were a normal couple in a normal relationship.

they had walked in comfortable silence enjoying the sights and sounds of the busy city. taeyong did not let go of jennie's hand all through out and she jennie felt warm at the thought.

"did you have fun during lunch today?" jennie asked breaking the silence. she had wanted to distract herself from the wave of emotions that he was causing her.

"hmm. yes i did." taeyong said as he glanced towards jennie with a small smile on his face. "vernon is very knowledgeable about art and had gotten me interested in sculpting."

jennie smiled back. "so are you going to give it a try?" she asked.

"maybe, i think i'll try it out just for fun. vernon had suggested a few good books on sculpting that i can check out." he replied.

jennie was glad that taeyong seemed to have hit it off with vernon given he was quite wary about him initially.

as they were walking they passed by a small flower stand. "flowers! get your flowers here." the lady manning the stall had called out to them with a smile. jennie could not help but smile at the burst of colorful flowers displayed. taeyong glanced at his wife and saw the smile lighting up her face. he started to head towards the stall pulling jennie along with him.
