No Hinduism in no way supports the practice of sati in Indian society. It is not written anywhere that after the death of the husband, his wife has to be consumed by sitting on his burning pyre. The four Vedas of Hinduism- Rig Veda, Yajurveda, Sama Veda and Atharva Veda, none of these four Vedas includes interpretations like burning a woman.
