INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – THE NEXT DAY
LOLA and EBONY stand at their lockers, getting ready to go to their next class. Lola is just catching up Ebony on the events of the previous night.
LOLA
And then, you know, we kissed.
EBONY
Oh my gosh. I knew it.
I actually knew it. You
can't get your hands off him!
Lola blushes
LOLA
He's just so good, you know?
I have never met anyone like him,
he makes me feel ... well ... he's
my everything.
Ebony is silent for a second. Her expression makes it clear that she is sceptical.
EBONY
Lola, don't you think that
you are going into this a
bit fast? He broke up with
Abby only a week ago. And
do you want him to break your
heart again?
LOLA
Ebs, don't worry about me.
I really like him, ok? He
makes me feel so special.
EBONY
That's what you said about
him before he broke up with you
for a first time!
LOLA
He has changed. He is not
going to break up with me.
EBONY
Lola, he CHEATED on you.
You know the saying, once
a cheater always a cheater?
There are so many red flags
around him Lola. Why can't
you see them?
LOLA
Why have you suddenly got
so protective? I trust
him, Ebony. He said himself
that he made a mistake.
EBONY
Him cheating on you was
one thing! What about only
being with Abby for a couple
of DAYS? I have seen him,
Lola, all he did when he
was with you was look at
other girls. I just didn't
want to say anything because
I didn't want to see your
heart broken!
LOLA
Wait, so hang on. You
LIED to me so who wouldn't
hurt my feelings? Ebony,
even if this whole
looking-at-other-girls thing
is even true, then you are
supposed to be my bestfriend!
You are meant to tell me
these things.
EBONY
Lola, you are missing the
point. You should not be
with Grayson. Actually, you
know what, if you are not
going to listen to me, then
I am just going to go. And
don't come running to me if
he breaks your heart again!
Ebony storms off. Lola is left at her locker. She is angry but her eyes are full of tears. The students around them are silent. Slowly they start moving again.
GRAYSON approaches Lola.
GRAYSON
Lola, what happened? Why
did Ebony storm off like that?
LOLA
It doesn't matter. Listen
I think I might be late
for math. I need some time
alone. Can you tell Mr Wright
that I'll be in later?
GRAYSON
Um, sure. Whatever.
Lola walks away and Grayson watches her go. However, he cannot help glancing over at other girls at their lockers.
