The Devotion of Damien And Augustus

I was outside the house and looking intently into it. I can also hear the noise made by my friends. Noise that they usually do. The house looks old already but I heard that there's someone who's taking care of the house because tita Helen wasn't home always. That's why it is somehow looks good.

I don't know how many times I swallowed but I was already here for half an hour. Seriously. I drive here less than 10 minutes but I'm kind of nervous and excited to see Haven again. Instead of clicking the doorbell, I messaged Warren and ask him to pick me here.

"Gago! Bakit di ka pa pumasok? Uubusan ako nina Calvin ng pagkain!"

Warren told me. He was about to go inside when I didn't move. He frown and grab my hands.

"Tara na! Paka pabebe mo kagabi pa."

He didn't think twice and grab me to come inside.

Voice getting louder. Same as the sound of my heart beat. Also the speed of the beat gets faster. I was also shaking which Warren noticed. He stop in front of the door and look concern now.

"Bro, ano? 8 years kang naghihintay oh. Ngayon ka pa manginginig jan?"

"I.. i don't know how I will face her."

I honestly said and turn around just to go home but he immediately stopped me. He topple my forehead which made me groaned.

"Para kang tanga, gago. Di mo pala kayang harapin. Bat nagpunta-punta ka pa rito?"

Hindi ako nakasagot at nanahimik. I am excited to see her but I didn't tell I am ready. I am afraid that she might throw me a look that I didn't want to see. The looks she gave me the last time we talked. That's the least thing I want to happen.

Tama si Warren. 8 years akong naghintay kaya hindi ko kakayanin kung mauulit ang nangyaring pag-uusap namin.

Napalingon ako sa likod ni Warren ng bumukas ang pinto. I got confused already when I saw Augustus.

He's home also??

"We've been waiting for you. Pumasok ka na sa loob. Everyone is in the kitchen"

His voice was still the same whenever we speak to each other. We're both have a cold treatment to anyone. But he's the worse. I guess?

He left us and the door open. Warren come right o my ears and whisper.

"He's still worse than you."

Pumasok kami sa loob baon ko ang kaba. Once we reach the kitchen, I noticed that all of them were there. Except Paris who I guess preparing for her little birthday celebration.

"Damien! You're here na."

Salubong saakin ni ate Tanya na halatang masaya. I look around and everyone are smiling. Until my eyes stuck on a certain person. She's smiling too. Mabilis gumaan ang pakiramdam ko sa ngiti na iyon.

Agad kong napansin ang mga pagbabago sa kanya. She lose weight. Her hair is shorter than she left and her hair. It was thick before and now..

I was too occupied about thinking her appearance until I felt her arms circle around me tightly. Unconsciously, I hugged her back. I felt the liquid in my eyes when I felt the warm of her hug. The hug that I am craving for 8 years.

"You're finally here."

Haven and I ended up on their garden. Our friends were already home as she requested. Tita Helen wasn't here but she will be home later at night.

She was looking at the side where she and her dad usually play. I sometimes ended up a third wheel when I am visiting here. But since they were the on who took care for me after my mom died, I just used to watched them and be contented they were on my side.
