The throne room was empty now so you could understand my surprise when Athena called my name. I stopped immediately and turned around to face my girlfriends mother.
"I'm sorry to stop you Percy, but I can't let you leave without asking you this. Would you have done what you did to Nico to Annabeth?" Athena asked,
"of course I would do that for Annabeth, if at that moment it was Annabeth and not Nico I probably would have made a tidal wave that would have ruined buildings and probably produced an earthquake felt all across the east coast probably more. I really do love your daughter and I don't know what I would do without her" I said nearly shouting not because I was angry but just because I felt it was a stupid question. To my surprise Athena gave the biggest smile she's ever given me. I didn't really know if that was a good thing or a bad thing until she told me,
"when you first became friends with my Annabeth I was furious, a son of Poseidon talking with my daughter, it was my worst nightmare. As the years went on I began to realise that she had feelings for you, feelings I wasn't sure you would ever reciprocate, especially when you met Rachel. But after seeing you two fighting together in the last Titan war I realised you had feelings for her as well. When you turned down our offer to be a god I knew she was the main influence in your decision. When Hera took you away from her and sent you to camp Jupiter I was genuinely angry because Annabeth was the happiest I had seen her when she was with you. Watching you fall into Tartarus with her even though you could have made it back to the ship made me realise just how much you love my daughter. I guess what I am trying to say Percy is, I approve of you especially now that your school marks are better" she said her smile growing the whole time she spoke.
"wow. I, I don't really know what to say. Thank you, Athena, I will make sure to never let Annabeth down." I replied and she began to walk out of the throne room with me trailing behind to get to my friends.
"one last thing Percy, I know Annabeth wants to spend the rest of her life with you and when the time comes, you have my permission." And with that she left me standing outside the throne room doors. I stood and watched as she went and gave Annabeth a hug goodbye. "I think Athena just gave me permission to propose to Annabeth" I said to myself.
Annabeth and I had said goodbye to Nico and Travis at the entrance to the empire state building before going back to my house for a celebratory dinner. I was smiling the whole time we were walking towards my apartment, Athena had finally approved of me and I had never felt better.
"why so smiley seaweed brain" Annabeth asked.
"Because I'm with you" I replied kissing Annabeth on the head.
Yeah so its not the best ending but its not the worst either. Anyway I'm going to start a crossover now and you should all be able to tell what the crossover is gonna be from this story. :)
