Into the shadows I go

I woke at 5:30 the next morning to leave at 6:00, I had packed all my stuff the night before so I didn't have to do much this morning. I walked in the dark morning light to the dinning pavilion and sat at the Poseidon table for one last meal before I left. I didn't really expect anyone else to be awake except Travis and Nico so when I sensed someone approaching me from behind you could understand why I uncapped my sword.

"chill out seaweed brain"

"Annabeth" I shouted before putting my sword down and hugging her. "what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at school?" I questioned

"wow don't sound too excited to see me, also my school doesn't know I left. Chiron told me that you were going on a quest and I just wanted to wish you luck." She told me

"you want to know what my quest is for don't you" I asked

"fine, I do want to know." She replied

"I'm going to Scotland to find Poseidon's trident in some fresh water lake next to a castle that is in a domain that none of the gods but 1 is allowed to enter" I told her. For the next few moments she just looked at me like I was crazy before her expression changed. I could tell she was thinking about why my Poseidon wouldn't be allowed somewhere considering the gods can go anywhere, well nearly anywhere in the world.

"your gonna go and do research now aren't you." I asked her. She just nodded at me.

"oh, and my father told me I'm going to have a sister" I told her, she looked at me confused for a few seconds.

"but, you already have one" she questioned

"yeah well Poseidon told me that in around 3 or 4 months I'm going to have another one." I said. At this information, she looked excited but also a bit scared. "please don't tell anyone just yet though. I don't want make it a big deal, I mean she isn't even born yet." Annabeth nodded and was about to say something when Travis and Nico walked into the dinning pavilion having a debate about which was better poker or mythomagic. I'd seen them have a similar debate a few years ago when Nico first came to the camp, honestly, I didn't expect Nico to still be so adamant that mythomagic was better considering he didn't play it anymore. In fact, there was a time where he despised it but ever since frank had said he played it Nico was more open to talking about it.

Annabeth and I sat down as they were came in. they instinctively went for their cabins tables, "hey guys just come sit over here, it will be easier for us to talk" Nico walked over and sat opposite Annabeth, Travis was more anxious about sitting at the table since he hadn't actually sat at another god table before.

"hey Annabeth" Nico said, will just smiled and waved as he looked around nervously as if Poseidon was going to jump around a corner and vaporise him for sitting here.

"I was just telling her about our quest" I told them both

"Hey Annabeth, I don't suppose you know why the gods can't go into this domain do you?" Travis asked.

"sorry but I don't. I didn't even know there was a domain they could go to. they've never spoken about it before that I know of." Annabeth replied. The four of us had breakfast together before Travis, Nico and I grabbed our bags and headed towards the big house to let Chiron know we were leaving camp. We got to the top of half-blood hill and stood for a few seconds taking in that we were about to go on a quest to another country.

"you'll be fine seaweed brain" Annabeth said before kissing me. Even now I still get chills when she kisses me. I just can't believe I have the coolest, smartest girlfriend in the world.

"I'll be fine" I told her as I pulled her into a hug. She let go and I turned towards Nico and Travis, "you ready guys" I asked

"never been more ready in my life" Travis replied I often forget that Travis hasn't done many quests before. I gave Annabeth one last smile before grabbing onto Nico's hand and disappearing into the shadows.
