Sherlock (Age 12):
When Y/N had gotten her first period, it was in school. The nurse had explained everything to her, and she had gotten supplies. It wasn't as bad as she was expecting, at least her first time.
Y/N walked up the stairs to 221b, ignoring the cramps in her stomach.
"Dad, I'm home!" Y/N yelled.
Sherlock took one look at Y/N, and immediately starting asking questions.
"What's wrong with you? Why are you standing like that?" Sherlock said.
"Standing like what? And what happened to 'hello' or 'how are you'?" Y/N said, not wanting to explain her period to her father.
"Like that." Sherlock started to deduce. "Your cheeks are also flushed, like you were scared earlier today, and there is also signs of a headache, and blood- oh." Sherlock said coming to a realization. His cheeks paled and he looked dizzy.
"Yep..." Y/N said awkwardly. Leave it to her father to deduce the fact she had gotten her period in five seconds flat.
"Well, do you want to watch a movie or something?" Sherlock said, trying to move on from the subject.
"Sure." Y/N said, glad that they had moved on.
"Okay. You can pick one. I'll grab some pain killers and put a pot of tea on the stove."
Well, Y/N was officially a woman. And she would always have the story of when her father almost passed out when he deducted she had gotten her period.
John: (Age 11)
When Y/N had gotten her first period, she had immediately told Mary, who was happy for Y/N. It was scary for Y/N, and was concerned for herself when she had starting peeing blood, but when Mary had explained it to her, she was almost excited. Y/N had gotten it fairly early, so she hadn't learned about it yet in school, like Mary said she would.
Her father on the other hand, almost starting crying, and talking about how she was growing up so quickly. Her father had seemed to do that a lot.
"Dad? Wanna watch a movie? My stomach hurts and I need a distraction."
"Oh, um, oh, do you, uh,"
"Spit it out please." Y/N said.
"Do you want advil?"
"Sure, I'll start the TV and make popcorn?"
"Sounds good."
Good God, her father had a lot of emotions. At least he loved Y/N.
3. Molly (Age 13)
When Y/N got her first period, Molly was excited. "Congratulations, Y/N!" Molly had said when Y/N got home from school.
"Thanks?" Y/N replied. "Why is that exciting?"
"You're a woman!" Molly exclaimed.
"I've been one since birth." Y/N said, still very confused as to why blood spilling out of her uterus was a reason to celebrate.
"But it's your first time!"
"The firs time blood starts pouring out of my uterus?"
"Yes!"
Y/N rolled her eyes. Molly was a great mom, but she was REALLY embarrassing sometimes.
"I'm going to post this on Facebook, my daughter's a woman!"
Y/N stopped Molly before she could grab her phone. "Nobody needs to know."
Molly thought for a moment. "I suppose you're right, I'm just excited."
"Don't worry about it, Mom." Y/N rolled her eyes and hugged her mom.
"Do we have any chocolate?"
4. Mycroft (Age 16)
Y/N was fairly old when she had gotten her first period. She had known all about it, and most of her friends already had them. So, when she first gotten hers, she had ran to the store immediately, and came back with a bag full of supplies. On the way home, she called her friend Y/F/N.
"Y/F/N? I got my period."
"Welcome to the club, sis." Y/F/N said.
"What the hell am I supposed to tell my dad?!" Y/N exclaimed, panicking a bit.
"Woah, calm down. You really don't have to tell him if you're careful enough. Just make sure you hide the supplies really well."
"Okay, thanks. Bye."
It was decided. Y/N was NOT telling her dad about it. He probably assumed that she already had it anyways.
"Dad! I'm home!" Y/N yelled.
"Did you go shopping again? How many books do you need?" Her father said, not liking the looks of her daughter with 3 bags in her hands.
"A lot." Y/N said, not wanting to have this conversation with her dad. "Well anyways, I'm going to the bathroom I'll be right back." Y/N said, fumbling with the bags in her hands.
Then, a tampon fell out.
"What is that? Young lady, are you doing drugs!?!"
Shit.
"No, it's a, it's a tampon."
Mycroft's face went as white as a ghost.
"What?"
"A tampon. I got my-"
"I know, I know." Mycroft took a deep breath.
"So yeah, I'm gonna get going, be right back." Y/N said, awkwardly slipping out.
"Y-yep."
Lestrade (Age 13):
When Y/N got her period, she panicked. She was at home getting ready in the morning when she noticed the red spot on her underwear. Lestrade was really distant with Y/N, how would he handle this? Y/N finally decided to call Sally, the closest thing she had to a mother figure. She was almost as bad as Lestrade when it came to parenting, but she was the only other woman Y/N knew of that might understand.
"What do you want, Y/N?" Sally asked, annoyed.
"Um, hi..." Y/N began.
"I don't have all day, what do you want?"
"I got it."
"Got what?"
"My period."
"Oh." Sally was quiet for a moment. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?"
"Do you have any extra, um, supplies?"
"No." Sally hung up the phone. There goes that. Y/N came to the realization that she would have to suck it up and tell her father.
"Dad?" Y/N tapped him on the shoulder.
"Yes?" Lestrade asked.
"I got my period."
Lestrade's eyes went as wide as the moon. "Do you need me to get..."
"Yeah."
"Okay. Um, no problem. Just, uh, take it easy today."
"Okay."
All in all, even with that awkward moment, it ended up being a pretty good day.
