Max squealed in delight as Alec picked him up and held him close to his chest.
"Dada!" He cried happily, wrapping his itty bitty arms around Alec's neck. Magnus smiled, watching the exchange as a warm feeling spread through his chest. Rafael was standing at his side, his tiny hand clutched in Magnus' albeit hesitantly.
Magnus always loved watching Alec with their children, as he had always loved watching James with Raphael. There was an ease to the way that his soulmate interacted with the incredible creatures that they were so blessed to deem as their children. He had taken to fatherhood like bees took to honey. It was so natural.
"I missed you, blueberry." Alec murmured to their youngest. "I'm so happy to see you."
Alec had greeted each of their children and, in the case of Clary and Raphael, their significant others enthusiastically.
The four of them were now standing in Max's nursery waiting for Clary and Raphael to make their way upstairs and relieve them of their youngest sons. Magnus had insisted on the married couple taking some time to themselves and Alec had an inkling of what that could possibly mean. His face had flushed in slight embarrassment, as if either Max or Rafael understood what their Papa was talking about.
So when Clary and Raphael entered the room, taking Max from Alec's arms and coaxing Rafael to them with encouragement from their fathers, Magnus took Alec by the elbow and rushed him into their bedroom, throwing up some wards to lock the doors and make the room sound proof.
Magnus practically threw Alec onto the bed and climbed atop him, diving in for a searing kiss.
"God, I love you, Angel." Magnus murmured into Alec's mouth. "Mm, you're never allowed to leave for so long ever again."
"You can't be too mad," Alec grinned, panting as Magnus moved to his neck. "I did bring us back another kid."
Magnus laughed. "I think we need to slow down on the kids after this one, my darling."
Alec just shook his head and rolled them over, Magnus chortling as he was pinned down into the mattress.
