Hi, welcoe! ( I meant to spell it liek that :), starting off with Amberbreeze, I'll be switching pOVS now! From Amberbreeze to her litter! She'll have more kits in the future btw!

Amberbreeze's POV:

Amberbreeze watched her kits, they were sitting across camp in a patch of sunlight. It was now newleaf, yet the air was still chill, but warm. Shadedwing was sitting next to her, his tail wrapped around her. She could hear Brokenheart and Cactusshine talking to their kits, Willowfoot was sitting with Tawnystripes. Both their mates had died, Juniperstar was with her and the patrol when foxes attacked, and Coneshine had a lump in her stomach that Littleshade and Lakepaw couldn't heal. Coldpaw was clearing out the elders den, while Foxshatter talked to him. She could just overhear that Coldpaw's warrior assessment would be soon. Coldpaw and Lakepaw had been sad since their mother Lambeyes had passed. Lambeyes was also Amberbreeze's mother's, Petalbreeze's sister. Foxshatter walked over to them and sat down. " Hi Amberbreeze, hi Shadedwing. "
She nodded to the brown and white tom turning her head to him. " Is Coldpaw taking his assessment soon? "
" Supposedly early tomorrow morning, and if he does well the ceremony will be held at sunhigh." She looked at the sun, which was starting to set behind the trees as night started to settle. Her kits ran over, cuddling besides her and Shadedwing. " We were chasing butterflies! " Ashkit meowed. She looked at her kits, realizing how much they had grown. Her toms were almost as big as her. Well, I am tiny. She thought.
Algaekit was still small, she had inherited her mother's tininess. " I almost caught one! " Creekkit jumped in joy, flailing his paws around as if showing how high he could swing them. She looked at the fresh kill pile. When the thaw had come, the prey started coming back. Yes, they had fish, but the streams and river would freeze over when heavy snows came. It had flooded camp when the thaw came, it had snowed heavily the nights before. Brindlestar had almost lost a life trying to rescue the elders.
" Well, I'm sure those butterflies were so scared of you kits! " She purred, licking each of their heads before bringing them closer with her tail. Algaekit leaned her head on Amberbreeze's leg, yawning quietly. She looked at the trees, green leaves growing on the branches. Ashkit and Creekkit were jumping up and down, energy bubbling in their eyes.

" Kits! Your fur is so messy! Do I need to wash you before we eat something? "
" No! " Ashkit quickly stopped jumping and started lapping his pelt, running into the nursery with Creekkit. Brokenheart came out, shaking his fur. " Cactusshine told me it's time for our kits to eat, so I figured I'd get some prey. Before I sit down, I'll get something for us all to share. "
Foxshatter sprinted over, waving his tail to Coldpaw. " Coldpaw is so excited for his assessment tomorrow, I just know he'll do great! " Foxshatter meowed, delight in his eyes.
" Well that's awesome, he's a skilled apprentice. " Eelcreek commented. Foxshatter nodded, sitting down next to the brown and white tom. Brokenheart came back with three fish. " We can split it multiple ways, I'll take this fish and let Cactusshine have it, I'll have whatever they don't eat, Amberbreeze, take this fish for you, Shadedwing and your kits. " He tossed a fish over, Shadedwing catching it in his jaws. " And may we have the last one? " Eelcreek put his paw out hungrily. " Of course, unless you're not hungry. " Shadedwing replied. She got up, calling into the nursery.
" Creekkit! Ashkit! Come eat with me and Algaekit and your father. " She looked around the nursery, Willowfoot was washing herself, and Cactussine was eating the fish Brokenheart had brought her moments ago. Ashkit ran out, Creekkit close behind.

At the nest in the nursery:

She yawned, settling down with her kits. Algaekit was closest to her stomach, Creekkit and Ashkit liked to sleep on the outside of her nest together. The moss was stirring under Algaekit's steady breathing.
