Algaekit's POV:

Algaekit looked around, today was her apprentice ceremony. She was really excited, and wondered who her mentor was to be. She was sitting with her best friend, Flowerkit, who was a quarter moon younger then her. Owlkit, Ashkit and Creekkit sat behind them, chewing on a fish. The warm new-leaf breeze swished through her fur. She pressed her side to Flowerkit's, playing with a shell that laid on the dirt. " You're lucky to become an apprentice today. " Flowerkit mumbled. She purred. " You'll been an apprentice in a few days! " Brindlestar was sitting on the Wet Rock, talking with Ivyshine, Burnteyes, and Tawnystripes. It was sunhigh, and the sun was blazing down, making her fur fill with warmth. " Ashkit, I have something cool to show you. " Owlkit meowed. She turned her head, seeing Owlkit and Ashkit heading towards the camp entrance, Creekkit on their tails. She shrugged it off, turning back to Flowerkit.
" Who do you think my mentors going to be? " She wondered, tipping her head. She looked back at Tawnystripes, Burnteyes and Ivyshine. I suppose they're the mentors, she thought. They were all great cats, Algaekit just didn't know them well. Her mother and Cactusshine chatted quietly, Algaekit could just see them in the nursery. Shadedwing was out on a hunting patrol with Eelcreek, Dogbark and Ashencry. She heard from Cactusshine that Brokenheart was out with Blazeheart, Eggclaw and Birdbuzz. And another patrol which included Foxshatter, Creamleaf, and Lilyflower.

" Do you think they'll be back soon? " Flowerkit asked her. " Who, our brothers, or the patrols? " She replied. Flowerkit hesitated. " Wait, they went out? " Alagekit nodded, she felt guilt rise in her stomach, but instead Flowerkit just shrugged. " Hopefully one of the patrols found them. " She meowed hopefully. Cactusshine and Amberbreeze finally walked up to them. " Where's Ashkit and Creekkit? " Amberbreeze looked around. " And where's Owlkit? " Cactusshine added. " They snuck out! " She finally forced herself to blurt out. " But this isn't a good time for them to sneak out, Shadedwing told me that there's still some uneasiness with Thunderclan, and your apprentice ceremony is supposed to be today. " Her mother trailed off. Algaekit watched Amberbreeze and Cactusshine walk to Brindlestar. Brindlestar nodded and said something to Burnteyes and Tawnystripes, then the two warriors set out of camp. " What do you think our mother's said?" She wondered out loud to Flowerkit. The white and orange she-cat shrugged, looking at the shells laying at the bottom of the pool by the nursery. " These are pretty, I want ot decorate the trim of my nest with them when we're apprentices. " Algaekit looked at the lilac colored shell, and then the light blue one. The water sparkled under the sun's rays, tiny waves starting in the light new leaf breeze.

Moments later Brokenheart's patrol and Shadedwing's patrol walked in, her brothers and Owlkit walked besides them. Tawnystripes and Burnteyes were also with them. Shadedwing had a stern look on his face, but Eelcreek had an amused, yet collected look. She couldn't read Dogbark or Ashencry's straight faces.

The sun rose high in the sky, and Foxshatter, Creamleaf and Lilyflower arrived. It was a little after sunhigh, and all the warriors were now in camp. Brindlestar finally stood up, shaking her fur.
" Let all cats old enough to swim the rapids gather beneath the Wet Rock for a Clan Meeting. " The brown and white she-cat yowled. Cats came from the warriors den, sitting beneath the Wet Rock. " We have three kits ready to become apprentices. Algaekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Algaepaw. Your mentor will be Tawnystripes. I hope Tawnystripes will pass down all he knows on to you. " Tawnystripes lowered his head, leaning down to touch noses with her. " Tawnystripes, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be calm and loyal. You will be the mentor of this apprentice, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her. " Her new mentor nodded, before stepping back with her.
" Ashkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Ashpaw. Your mentor will be Ivyshine. I hope Ivyshine will pass down all she knows on to you. Ivyshine, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be creative and energetic. You will be the mentor of this apprentice, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him. " They touched noses before Brindlestar moved on to Creekkit. " Creekkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Creekkit. Your mentor will be Burnteyes. I hope Burnteyes will pass down all she knows on to you. Burnteyes, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be logical and humble. You will be the mentor of this apprentice, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him. "
She felt the gaze of her Clanmates on her pelt as they called Algaepaw and her siblings by their new names. She looked at Tawnystripes. He was a senior warrior, Blazeheart, Dogbark and Ashencry's father. Her mother had told her that Tawnystripes didn't want to be an elder because it made him think of Coneshine, his mate who had died from greencough.
