Chapter 9

The weather was rainy today, Emma was standing in a hotel room window watching the weather outside, due to the rain they have to pack up their camps and moved to the hotel.

She took a deep breath of fresh air the smell of rain was soothing some couples were swimming in the outdoor pool enjoying their time.

She decided to go outside to stroll around the hotel.
She wore her red windbreaker and picked up the umbrella which she brought with her baggage.

When she stepped out of the room she saw Adam standing at the end of the corridor talking on the phone, his side profile was on display, he was definitely very handsome but she always felt something untold about him, he was witty and frank but distant.
His aura was somehow more than that he shows.

She shook her head as if dismissing her thoughts, she was just about to turn when Adam glanced at her, he motioned her to stop and started walking towards her.
His steps were firm and calculated, Emma saw him approaching and smiled.

"I was just going outside to enjoy some rain", she informed him.

" You should have called me, you know that you are here on my responsibility", he said plainly.

"I don't need you to babysit me all the time", she rolled her eyes.

" But your brother strictly ordered me just now to make sure your security", he informed.

"Whatever", she said dismissing him and started walking toward the lift.

Adam followed behind her closely, they stepped into the lift and press the ground floor button.
She was busy fiddling with her phone while Adam was eyeing her.
He has to admit that she was very beautiful, the way she spoke the way she looked at him with her big eyes, the way she pouted. Every inch every action was beautiful but she is off-limits he is only her driver and now her bodyguard too.

He averted his gaze when the ding sound of the lift caught his attention.
He was the first to step out. Emma was now following him.
He suddenly stopped at the exit of the lobby to open his umbrella when Emma who was following closely bumped into him and lost her balance but he was quick to catch her arm.
When she steady herself she grabbed her arms from his hold.
His tips were still burning with the contact of her soft skin. "I have to avoid it, It can't be like this", he remained himself.

They started strolling around the hotel when Emma tugged at Adam's shirt to grab his attention.

"I'm hungry", she said while pointing toward a cafe her eyes were shining like a 5-year-old kid who just saw his favorite food.

" You are always hungry", Adam chuckled while looking at her cute appearance.
He started walking towards the cafe with her.
The cafe was warm and cozy, they took a seat near the window and ordered pasta there was an awkward silence.

"You never told about your family and I never saw you going to meet them", Emma asked casually.

Adam's face changed suddenly at her question. He clenched his jaws and his face darkened.

" I don't like to comment on my personal life", he said coldly.

Emma was stunned for some time at his reaction.

"I, I'm sorry, I was not meant to be personal", she said embarrassed.

" I don't like the people who ask pardon after their mistake", he replied, his voice still cold.

Emma didn't talk further due to embarrassment, they ate in silence, It was getting dark outside so they return to the hotel.
