Bound by Heart

Chapter 11

She ran out of the room her heart was beating wildly she looked at her left and right and spotted Adam standing at the far end of the corridor on right.
She looked at him and started running towards him. Her hair scattered, the face was stained with tears and her expressions were horrified.
She ran into Adam and hugged him tightly and started sobbing like a child.

He was too shocked to see her like this, the more surprising thing was that she was in his arms hugging him tightly and shivering like a kitten.
He wrapped his arms around her reluctantly. He was looking at her red face, he grabbed her from her shoulders to make a distance between them so he can see her face.

"What happened Emma", he asked with a hint of softness in his voice.

She looked at him still sobbing and pointed towards the room door.

" T....th..there is someone inside", she said shuttering.

Adam lose his grip on her shoulders and started walking toward the room.
Emma was following him closely.
He approached the door and opened it.
She looked inside and then back at Emma.

"There is no one inside", he assured her.

" But there was someone, I just saw him there", she said pointing her finger towards the window.

Adam walked toward the window and checked but it was locked.

"Windows are locked, are you sure you saw someone here", he asked her again.

She didn't answer him and turn her face away from him.

" I'm right outside your room, you should sleep for some time", he said looking at her small figure who was now twisting her fingers nervously.

"Can you stay with me here, I'm afraid, I won't be able to sleep", she said still sounding uneasy.

" I can't stay here Emma, I'm not allowed near you more than necessary but I am right outside your door you can sleep peacefully ", he said her in a soft voice as if coaxing her.

After Adam left the room Emma lay down on the bed but sleep was nowhere to be found, she was thinking about what just happened and how she ends up in Adam's arms.
She felt conflicted because he was her bodyguard and driver and she was not allowed to close this distance.
In these thoughts, she drifted into a deep slumber.

The next morning Mr. Taylor was sitting on the couch chatting with Dean when he heard a beep sound of the message. He picked up his phone and read the text.
" Do you think the game is over? It's just the starting. Wait for the surprise."

The message was from an unknown number. His face suddenly changed color which Dean noticed.

"What happened dad, who sent you the text, is it again someone threatening you", he asked worriedly.

Mr. Taylor didn't speak and passed the phone to Dean.
As Dean red the message he clenched his jaws tightly. He grabbed his phone and started to dial the same number.

" It is useless Dean, the number will be powered off like before", said Mr. Taylor.

Dean throw his phone on the ground in frustration and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Who it can be dad, do you have any new business rival or do you think it is someone from the past, think dad because we can't just sit back here and wait for him to play his game", he said while looking at Mr. Taylor seriously.

" I tried to investigate the number but there was no information about the owner and I really can't figure it out who is this", replied Mr. Taylor.

"I'm going to call Adam to bring Emma back here, as long as we are not sure who it is, we can't risk her security", Dean said while picking up his phone and dialing Adam's number.

After he finished the call and instructed him to bring her back he made some other calls and left the house.
