When I got in side, I found a spot right next to a girl named Layla Polerd. She's in all of my classes and never seems to have anyone to talk to. " Hey, " I start out as I sit down next to her, " your name is Layla right? "

She turns to me with gum in her hand, " Yeah. Oh, want some? " I nod my head and she gives me a piece. " And your Kisha, right. I sit behind you in homeroom. "

I start chewing my gum, and put the rapper in my pocket. " Kisha MelHavin. " I add.

Layla and I sat looking at the boys across from us, " Hey, look that guy is waving at you. " she says to tell me, and not like she thinks we should date.

And when I look up thinking it would be Zack, I see one of his friends with him no where to be seen. I look back down at my book and whisper to Layla, " I think that's a friend of a guy I meet this morning. " trying not to pay any attention to him Layla quickly asked what guy I meet, and I said, " Zack. He never have me his last name so I don't really know who he is. "

And all the sudden she whips her head around and says, " Zack. Zack Willoson. "

" I told you I don't know. " I say trying not to get upset with her.

" What did he look like? " she says a little to excised.

I lean back and start thinking. " He had bleach blond hair that was real puffy, and eyes that looked like the ocean. He also look to be about six feet tall. " I say thinking back to about ten minutes ago when we stepped off the bus.

" Oh yeah, that's him alright. Please tell me he didn't get on your bus at the store next to the bar. " she says scared like.

I shake my head and shrug my shoulders, " I don't know where he got on. I did even know we stopped until he sat next to me. " I grab my bag off the floor and opening it up to grab the book he gave me. When I get it out I open it up to see what he wrote. Dear Kisha, I hope you like this book as much as I do. XOXO Zack Willoson.
" Layla. " I tap her arm and hand her the book. As soon as she sees it she drops the book on the floor.

" Oh my god, Kisha. He gave this to you. " I nod my head, and pick up the book.

" Everyone we are starting dismissal to your classrooms. " a voice says over thin intercom. " Ninth grade girls, on the floor you may go to your classes. "
I stand up and grab Layla's arm, as I walk up the stairs to the cafeteria. Thinking to myself I start walking thro all the other girls with Layla's hand in mine. " Ninth grade boys, on the floor you may go to your class. " I hear the women say.

" Kisha are you okay? " Layla pulls on my arm as she stops in the hall. " Your walking pretty fast. "

" I'm fine. Let's go. " I tug on her hand and she starts walking with me. I don't care who I run into, at this point I'm just trying to get to class, and away from people.

" Twelfth grade boys, on the floor you may go to your classes. " Zack is in twelfth grade, and so are his friends.
" Kisha, Zack and his friends are in that group aren't they? " She says looking around to see if she could spot any of them.

" Hey. " Zack pops up right in front of me and Layla.

" Ah! " I say stumbling back into Layla. " What do you want Zack? "
He shrugs his shoulders and smiles, " To know if you wanted to hang out sometime. " His friends walk up behind him and shove him into me.
I push him back and run into the crowed of students who passed by. Layla comes up behind me and grabs my hand again, just to let me know she's still there. Trying not to run, I quickly squeeze through all the people and stop listening to the announcements.

Thinking the only thing that mattered was getting far away from Zack, and all his friends. Layla never once let go of my hand, through the crowed I knew she was there. " Layla, do you see them? " I ask snapping myself back to reality.

" No, but there bound to come around that corner any second. " she says, pulling me into the girls bathroom with her. " But, I guaranty they won't be coming in here any time soon. " she smiles at me and we both laugh.
Right in the middle of our laughing the bell rings, and if it rings again and we're not in class we'll be counted late. " We should head to class. " I nod my head towards the door. She talks my hand again and walks out the door to our class.

Neither one of us says anything during the short walk to our class, but once we get there she says, " Thank you. " and walks in.

I didn't know why she thanked me but I wanted to. We didn't get to talk to each other during homeroom, because the teacher had a lot of announcements to make to the class. Mainly just going back over the rules being broke the most recently. And before I knew it homeroom was over and it was time for first period, math class.
