"We should stay together or split up with partners", Raphael suggests. We all agree in unison and decide to go buy the tickets.

"I want you to stay as close by as possible", Travis says.

It's not like I would wanna get lost with all these people here anyways. As I look around I see a variety of different people wearing masks, and others wearing face paint. It seems like it's going to be a long night.

We grab our tickets and all begin to walk to the "Haunted house". I wouldn't say it's real scary but we do hear a lot of screams here and there. It's a old abandoned house that used to just sit there before being remodeled for the fair. It was pretty creepy at first, when everyone used to be too scared to even look at it.

"Are you guys all together?" The ticket collector asks.

"Yes we are", Isabella said.

He begins to count and see how many we are, 5. Myles and Camren are doing their own thing so it's only Travis, Raphael, Izzy, Penny, and Me. We hand him our tickets and then he proceeds to let us walk through.

As we're heading in, I glance at the fake yellow 'Caution' tape, it all reminds me of that night, how it surrounded the woods while they searched and searched for that madman but never found him. There wasn't one bit of DNA found on the knife, it seems to me like that hadn't been the man's first time. Chills surf through my body as we begin to get deeper and deeper into the house.

Isabella takes a rough step back, slightly bumping into me. For a second I wanted to bitch at her, that was until I noticed what she was looking at, as matter a fact, all of our friends were. It was a black figure that seemed to get lost in between the fake fog. It was standing still as ever and didn't make one slight sound. It began to look human as it turned in our direction and held what I believe was a toy knife.

Bothered I say, "Haha, very nice can we just keep it moving?"

Everyone then turns to Isabella but I don't take my eyes off of it at all.

"I don't think I wanna continue, he doesn't look like he's part of the cosplay", she says lowly.

We all agree and decide to walk out and head to the games. Raphael and Isabella separate from us and Penny stays with me and Travis.

"We should definitely go to the ring toss, I want a teddy bear", I say.

"Ooo, I love me some mini games and competition!" Penelope said happily.

We hand the worker our money and begin to play the game. I attempt to focus on my aim and concentrate my breathing, I really really want that darn bear.

Travis ends up winning and the man asks him what he would like his prize to be. He looks over at me, I pout my lips and point at the teddy bear. He rolls his eyes with a slight grin and points towards the bear I chose.

"May I have that one?"

The worker takes it down and hands it to me. I dig my face into it and snuggle it. It's so fluffy and cuddly.

"I'll catch up with you guys later", Penelope says.

"Are you sure?"

"Yea, I'mma go talk to a friend, don't worry about me."

I give her an unsure nod, and she quickly leaves. I turn back around to face Travis, who turns out to be cheesing at his phone, his smile makes me smile.

I nosily peek my head in his phone, "Whatcha doing?"

He lifts his eyes from his phone to me as I notice he's looking at pictures of us. I smile even harder and he pecks my forehead. The only thing that ruins the mood right now is the need to pee.

"I gotta head to the bathroom, do you mind waiting for me here?"

"Go ahead."

I hand him my things to make sure I don't end up losing anything and ruining the night. I don't lose my head because it's connected to me, I tend to forget where I put things, nowadays.

I walk to the bathroom and stand and wait on the line. Heads begin to turn and look at me and then the bickering and whispers began, embarrassed I look down and play with my fingers. As much as I try to forget about that night there's always something that brings it back up, I'm getting really tired of it.

I waited for everyone to leave before I used it and hadn't noticed I had spent a long time and Travis was waiting. I begin to head back but it seems like he's not waiting where I left him.

Hmm.

I stand in the exact location I left him but he's not here. I figured he just went looking for me so I start to do the same thing. The fair is so crowded it's hard to really see people's faces. I look to see if I could see any of the people I came with but everyone's all dressed up and you don't really know who is who.

Fuck. I left my phone with him so I have no way of communication with any of them. I can be a real dumbass at times I just never understood why. I turn back around and notice a costume that looks exactly like Travis' so I walk up to him, he was standing alone so I assumed it was him.

"I'm guessing you don't know what stay put means"

"I mean it is what I'm doing right now", he says.

His voice was nothing like Travis', it was deeper. He lifted his mask up and all I could focus on was how pretty his brown eyes were, his eyebrows perfectly arched and lined up, his pink lips all full, his dimples all deep and his caramel colored skin, glowing with the amount of light, I step back and he chuckles.

"Not the guy you were looking for?", he asks as he plays with his mask string, "that's too bad."

My face flushed with embarrassment. He was very attractive, like very attractive. I look away so I wouldn't seem interested.

"Sorry, I thought you were someone else."

"You mean, him?" He said, pointing behind me.

I turn my head and see Travis walking up to us, I run my fingers through my hair and sigh.

"Yea, thanks", I said as I waved goodbye and made my way to Travis.

Travis begins to swarm me with questions but I stayed quiet, I wasn't in the mood to answer them, all I could think about was how god really has favorites, his features all aligned and he just seemed so perfect. But I shouldn't even think about him, it's not like I'd ever see him again.

You just had to embarrass yourself, Evangeline.

Something made me want to go back and ask him if he was from around here, I hadn't seen his face before, anywhere. He was probably just visiting town for the fair, but he seemed so heavenly and the type of person you'd want to be around.

While interrupting my overthinking Travis asks, "So whats the next ride?"

I shrug, "Hit me with whatever"
