Chapter 5

[[ Detective Kageyama's POV ]]

"...What?"

The orange-haired girl chuckled, "I'm just joking."

I sighed.

Thank god, she looked so serious when she said that. I didn't know whether to take her seriously or not.

"Uh hey"

"Could you maybe, let go of my wrist?"

I slightly blushed, "sorry, my bad uh-"

I paused.

The girl tilted her head, "is there something wrong?"

"I just realized, I never got the chance to know your name-" I blurted out awkwardly. 

"Oh! You're right! Call me, Sho. And you are?"

"Kageyama, Kageyama Tobio"

"Well, it's been a pleasure meeting to Mr Kageyama."

I lightly smiled at her. I've never been a fan of getting to know someone for non-work-related situations. But there's something about her that's so, mysterious? She just- I don't know... I just feel like, I want to get to know her better even if it's just by a little bit.

I took a deep breath and exhaled. I was about to do something I've never honestly done before. 

"Can we, keep in touch?"

"Yeah of course! Here I'll give you my number."

As she pulled out her phone from her skirt pocket, something shiny fell out and made an odd sound as it dropped. Her face turned pale as she awkwardly stared at me, hoping I didn't notice.

I noticed.

Trying to do something friendly, I kneeled to the floor to grab the item. 

It looked weirdly familiar, it was a watch.

Trying to strike up a conversation I spoke up, "I have the exact same model."

"Wow- that's nice."

I looked down at my wrist but was surprised to find my watch missing.

"That's odd, I was just wearing it."

Suddenly, I felt an uneasy feeling, I was making negative assumptions but I shouldn't judge someone I just met. Maybe she had an explanation as to why she stole- 

No. She didn't steal it. At least I hope she didn't. 

"I think that's mine."

[[ Hinata's POV ]]

Crap, he's probably assuming I stole it. I mean, I clearly did but.

I decided to make a lie on the spot, I mean duh, I wouldn't wanna be known as that one "cute girl" who stole from the hot- 

STOP THINKING LIKE THAT HINATA.

"Your watch dropped, so I helped keep it for you, must've forgotten about it."

"Oh, thanks."

I sighed, well that's one disaster avoided. 

The next move I did, was probably my stupidest yet.
