Tw // emotional abuse and death threats

The next morning came quickly too quickly for Hyunjae's liking. She got ready in semi formal attire since she didn't know what her mom had up her sleeve. Plus it would be the first time she'd be seeing her twin and possibly her dad. At least she hoped. She got breakfast at another cafe cause she was not about to encounter her sister again. What a fucking coincidence might she add. She got her food and ate before checking the time on her watch to keep track.

She grabbed a taxi and headed over to her mother's building. The taxi dropped her off and she stood outside for a good ten minutes just contemplating if she should enter or not. She knew this would only end in arguments amongst everyone, except Yeji who wasn't even here. There was some plus side, she would see her brother and possibly her dad. That was more than enough to balance out the bad. She missed them.

With a deep breath she entered the building to meet the same receptionist from yesterday.

"Oh you're here again?"

"Where's my mom?" Hyunjae asked looking around the, once again, empty lobby.

"She is in a meeting with-"

She was cut off by the office door opening, except it wasn't her mother who came out.

"Hyunjae?!"

Her eyes widened and immediately began to water.

"Hyunjin!" She exclaimed.

He ran up to her engulfing her in a tight hug. It's been so long, too long. It was weird not having her twin at her side all the time, she missed it. There was so much she wanted to know about and even more they needed to catch up on.

"Ok you two enough of your dramatics," Her mother groaned exiting the office.

Hyunjae resisted throwing the middle finger up to her.

"You're literally the reason we're separated so be quiet," Hyunjin mumbled wiping his own eyes.

"Well you're wasting my daylight. We have lots to discuss," She said walking towards the elevator.

The twins rolled their eyes before sharing a laugh.

"You're so tall," Hyunjae chuckled.

Obviously Hyunjin had grown over the years but he was a good three of four inches taller than her. Granted Hyunjae wasn't that tall, but she was a bit taller than the average 5'4 height.

"You're taller too! Plus your hair," he replied as they entered the elevator, "Though we do have similar style."

"Unfortunately," Their mother replied as she hit the 8 button in the elevator.

"Can you not ruin the moment?" Hyunjae asked starting to get annoyed.

The elevator ride was filled with Hyunjae and Hyunjin chatting away. Since Hyunjae had left so suddenly that day at court (due to her mother trying to get out of there quick) she never got to give Hyunjin her new number or anything like that. They didn't even have social media accounts at the time. She had pretty much given up on seeing him.

"What's school like?" He asked intrigued.

"Fun, I'm still designing clothes," she smiled, "What about music school?"

"Amazing! I think I got myself a little group too, nothing big though."

The elevator dinged causing them both to stop and follow. They headed down a corridor with plenty of office like rooms. Probably used for like meeting or something along those lines.
