"𝐒𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐖, 𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐀?" hermione squeaked as the darker haired Gryffindor beside her planned her escape from the constant questioning. "Don't act like you don't know, for Merlin's sake!"

Aurora stopped purposely slowly and turned around sighing to face her best friend. "What did you see exactly, dearest Hermione?"
Hermione directed her glare straight to her as she began to speak, her voice shaking with anger.

"Oh! Nothing much, really! I only spotted you with Draco Malfoy last night on the grounds. Oh, and did i mention that you were lying on top of each other?" She spoke, her tone beginning to rise.

Aurora froze.

"Hermione, that wasn't me. I told you already i was in the library last night!" she said in vain as she knew she had been caught. When Hermione's face reappeared, her eyes were glistening with the ghosts of tears and all that was left on her face was pure betrayal and hurt.
Before the girl next to her had turned around, she began to speak.

"Aurora, you're my best friend and i trust you! or trusted you. I warned you about Malfoy so long ago and i had my suspicions but i never actually thought...!"

Aurora waited for a minute while Hermione raged, debating her options that she definitely lacked while her heart thumped loudly against her chest. Taking a deep breath, she persuaded herself that this was for the right reason. Her own safety. To save her friendship.

" Hermione, i was only using Dra- Malfoy. I thought it would be funny to get his hopes up and then drop him, you know! Give the spoiled boy a taste of his own medicine." She tried to speak convincingly, but her throat was beginning to burn and she knew the tears were coming. She so desperately wanted to defend her Slytherin friend, but was it worth losing Hermione?

A relieved smile broke out on her face and she ran to Aurora with a massive bear hug, nearly knocking her out. She smiled weakly after quickly hugging her back and mumbled something about going to find Harry.

As Aurora left Hermione, a sudden face made her jump again.
Draco Malfoy's grey eyes were dangerously close to her hazel ones, but they lacked their usual menace and instead a new look took them over.
Hurt was swimming in Draco's eyes and his face was a stony expression.

Hermione had long gone, and it left the two facing each other, alone. The silence engulfed Aurora, making her back up against the wall and try to swallow her nerves away.

"So when were you going to tell me, Aurora. That this was all just a joke? A silly prank to play on the boy who was just beginning to let you in? Show his real personality, become friends with you? Was this all just a game? Did you ever care about me?'
His voices was starting to raise, and Aurora felt herself shake.

"I heard everything. You should really learn to lower your voice. I don't know why i ever trusted you, Westwood. You were the only person in my life who-" he broke off, turning around to hide the silent tears that were threatening to fall. His skin was paler than usual, his lips dry and broken from biting.

Aurora reached out, the desperation to tell him the truth, but by the time the words had even gotten out of her mouth he blonde boy was gone, pulling his green robes tighter in the cold corridor.
