Chapter 6.
Lucy’s POV.
I woke up to hear my phone ringing. I got out of bed and walked to my dressing table to pick up my phone. The caller id was Tyler; I still wonder how he got my number.
I was pretty scared about the event that happened last night, why did I leave Tyler’s without telling him, I’m so stupid but I will admit I was getting bored. I wonder if my mom and dad know about what happened to me. I picked up the phone.
‘’Hello, Tyler how did you get my number?’’ I asked.
‘’From your mom, anyways are you alright now?’’ He asked.
‘’Yeah, I’m still a little scared but other than that, I’m fine thanks.’’ I said.
‘’Well I’m coming to visit you right now. I’ll be there in 20 minutes or so. By the way I told your mom because she does need to know and I didn’t want to turn up without a reason other than I’m coming to visit you because she might think something’s going on.’’ He said whilst chuckling. His chuckle was so cute.
‘’Okay, well I’ll see you soon.’’ I cut off but before I did, he said something. Well I guess I’ll never know what he was going to say. I quickly got into a 20 minute shower and brushed my hair, I really couldn’t be bothered to straighten it so I put it in a ponytail. My hair doesn’t really need to be straightened because it’s naturally straight but it does sometimes get frizzy. I put a tiny bit of mascara on and nothing else. It was another hot day today so I put my denim short shorts on and a white t-shirt that had a load of patterns on it. It’s was a bit big so I tucked it into my shorts. I put my white converses on and waited for Tyler to show up.
It’s now half past 12 and he’s still was not here. He called at 11.45am and said he would take 20 minutes to get here, obviously not. I went downstairs and had some buttered toast. No-one was home which was weird, I thought my mom would be home since Tyler said he told her why he was coming and she didn’t say she wasn’t going to be going out. I decided to put the TV on. There was nothing to watch so I just put music on. I got my iPhone out of my pocket and started playing Temple Run. Just when I was about to beat my high score on Temple Run, the door bell rang. I quickly got up and walked to the door to answer it. I opened the door to see Tyler with a bunch of flowers. He looked sexy, I have to admit, his electric blue eyes beaming into mine, and his hair was mess which made him look even better.
‘’These are for you.’’ He said.
‘’Oh well thank you, they’re beautiful.’’ I took the flowers out of his hands and put them on the counter in the kitchen. He followed me into the house and shut the door behind him. I really didn’t know what to say to him, maybe a sorry or a thank you. Luckily, he broke the silence.
‘’So what are you going to do today?’’ He asked.
‘’Nothing, you?’’
‘’Well I was going to ask you on the phone but you cut off. Would you like to come with me to that park on top of the hill, no-one goes there?’’ Was Tyler asking me out on some sort of date or something? I’ve known him since I was little apparently. I thought I had never met the Michaels but I actually have when I was younger that’s why I didn’t know Tyler was part of the same family. Makes sense now.
We left my house and walked out to his car. He opened the passenger’s seat door open for me then strolled to his side of the car. What a gentlemen. I got into his car and shut the door behind me and he drove off. I kept asking what we were going to do at the park but he didn’t tell me, he sort of just said it would be a surprise.
Tyler finally pulled up in a parking lot outside this park no-one really went anymore. Although it was a lonely park it still looked pretty. Different kinds of flowers growing, trees full of different shades of green. We both got out of the car and walked up the large hill. When we got to the top I gasped. The view was beautiful; the sun was beaming down on us. It was only 2pm so it obviously was not dark yet. I was just staring at the view and I didn’t notice Tyler was sitting on some sort of sheet. It looked like a picnic mat. I joined him on the mat and he brought a basket out from behind his back. When did he bring that along with him, I never saw him bring that with him.
‘’Why are you doing this for me?’’ I questioned him, kind of confused.
‘’I don’t know, maybe to apologise for yesterday.’’ He said, giving a warming smile but in his eyes I could see guilt.
‘’It wasn’t your fault, it was mine. I shouldn’t have left but I was just getting so bored.’’ I sighed.
‘’Whatever.’’
It was now 4pm and for those 2hours, we were just looking up at the clouds seeing what shapes they would make and talking about life. I felt so calm around him, I felt like I didn’t have to put on an act just to impress him. These past few days, Tyler hasn’t seemed himself. He’s been really nice, I love it but I wonder why he is being nice. Normally, I have awkward silences when I’m around boys but not today. There was never nothing to say, we could go on and on about anything.
Tyler sat up and looked down at me with a look telling me I should sit up to so I did. We just stared into each other’s eyes for seconds until he was leaning into kiss me. I really didn’t know what to do, it wasn’t my first kiss because my first kiss was taken by some stupid boy that had been playing spin the bottle with his friends and was told to kiss me without him even asking me. He did take me aside after though to apologise and explain why he did that. I didn’t know whether I should lean in as well to kiss Tyler or move away and tell him to stop. He was now inches away from my lips, I could feel his hot breath tickling my lips. I turned my head so he could kiss my cheek. I felt so embarrassed, I didn’t know what to do or say so I was just awkwardly waiting for Tyler to break the silence.
‘’I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that’’ I broke him off before he could speak.
‘’Don’t worry about it, let’s just forget about it.’’
He sighed and muttered something under his breath. Unfortunately he was too quiet so I didn’t hear anything.
He offered to drive me home so I took the offer but I don’t think he would have took no for an answer since it was not getting dark. The ride to my house was pretty silent. The only noises I could hear were car horns beeping and my heart beating loudly in my chest.
We finally got to my house and we both said our goodbyes. I strolled to my door, opened it, walked in and shut the door behind me. I really didn’t want to turn around to see Tyler. So many things were running through my mind. What am I going to say to him next time I see him?
I ran up the stairs and threw myself onto my bed. ‘’I think I li-li’’ I muttered to myself but it just wasn’t coming out.
