Chapter 9.

Chapter 9.

‘’Why are you here?’’ I scowled.

‘’Wow, calm down.  I’m being a gentleman and checking if you’re alright.’’ Erick said teasingly.  He slumped himself next to me.  I turned to him and gave him a smile.

‘’Well thanks.  And sorry, I’m just not in the mood for some reason that’s why I came out here, for some fresh air and to be alone but you can stay if you want.’’ I chuckled.  He gave me a warming smile and just layed down and looked up at the clouds.  The sun was out, beaming down at us, it was so hot.  The sky was a lovely baby blue with white clouds that seemed to be so cushony. Erick definitely looked better closer than further.  He had blonde messy hair coming up to his eyebrows and bright green eyes.  He was just as muscular as Tyler and just a tiny bit smaller than him.

‘’What are you doing today after school?’’ He asked, sitting up.

‘’Some homework and it’s a school night tonight so I’m staying in’’ I said whilst sitting up as well.

‘’Who said I was asking you to go out?’’ He teased.

‘’Oh, well I just kind of guessed you were asking me out on a date’’ I said, looking down in embarrassment.

‘’I’m joking, I was asking you on a date but since your busy maybe another day?’’ 

‘’Course I will, maybe Friday or Saturday night?’’ I asked.

‘’Cool’’ He got up and dusted his jeans, and put a hand out to help me up.

‘’I think we should get to class, there’s only 10 minutes left, you never know you might miss something in those last 10 minutes’’ He said.  I took his hand and bent back down to get my bag.   I didn’t think someone like Erick would want to go back to class, especially that there was only 10 minutes left.

We walked through the halls together silently to our class since we had the same one.   It was so silent you could hear a pin drop.  We finally got to our class and apologised to our teacher, Mr Greene.  He didn’t seem too pleased that we were this late but he gave us a warning and let it slide.  We took our seats and just casually listened to Mr Greene.  I and Erick sat about three seats apart from each other.

The bell finally rang meaning it was the end of the day.  I walked out of my class to see Erick waiting outside staring at me.

‘’Hey Lucy, would you like me to drive you home?’’ He said, giving a warming smile and walking over to me.

‘’Yeah, okay’’ We walked through the halls together for the second time today.  This time it was pretty packed since people were rushing to leave the school or hanging about to catch up with their friends.  I hadn’t seen Louise or Charlotte at all today, I wonder where they are.

We got to Erick’s truck, he opened the door for me and I got in.  He is such a gentleman.  I looked out the window waiting for Erick to get in.  I happened to notice Tyler sitting on the front of his car staring at us.  He had a few girls in front of him trying to communicate with him but he didn’t seem to be listening.  He didn’t look too happy to see me getting into Erick’s car.  Well I guess, it’s sort of his fault.  Erick finally pulled out of the parking lot and now was on the road heading up to my house.  It was so silent in his car until he broke it.

‘’You know Drake likes one of your friends.’’ He said, I bet he only said that to break the silence but I wonder who he’s talking about.

‘’Was that meant to be private or could you have told anyone? And who?’’ I asked curiously.  ‘’Haven’t I found out a lot today’’ I muttered to myself.

‘’I needed something to say to break the silence and there was nothing else to say other than that but I think her names Charl-‘’ I had to break him off, I was so shocked.

‘’Are you kidding?  We could so set them up but because she kind of likes him too’’ I said whilst chuckling.  ‘’I’m guessing you like Louise?’’ I sighed but I think it came out like I was jealous but I’m seriously not.  If he likes Louise that’s fine with me, it’s cute.

‘’Are you jealous or something?’’ He said, laughing loudly, still keeping his eyes on the road.    

‘’No, I’m not jealous actually’’ I said folding my arms looking out the window on my side.

‘’Well I like a girl called Lucy, I think you know her, I’m not actually sure’’ He said whilst chuckling.

‘’Really, aww.  What’s her surname, just want to see if I actually know her’’ I said whilst grinning.  There were many Lucy’s in our year so I don’t really have a unique name unfortunately.

‘’You idiot, I like you’’ He said, laughing.  He carried on looking at the road so I couldn’t see his face properly but I could hear in his voice he was embarrassed.  I couldn’t help blushing, I could feel my cheeks flaming red and that’s when he decided to turn to me, totally wrong time.  I was so embarrassed.  I started to chuckle then I put my head in my hands.

I brought my head up from my hands to notice we were at my house.

‘’Thanks for driving me home’’ I said, smiling.

‘’Your very welcome’’ He said, chuckling.  He leaned in and kissed me cheek so fast I couldn’t react.  I wouldn’t have been able to do anything anyway.  When I felt his lips brush against my cheek, I felt tingles in my belly and it brought a smile to my face.  I got out and shut the door behind me; I walked to my door and turned around to wave.  

I opened the front door and quickly closed it behind me.  I leant back onto the door and slid down to the floor still leaning onto the door.  Tyler likes me, Erick likes me.  How could I have found out two boys, both really close like me?  Surely this is a dream; I pinched myself to wake up.  It really wasn’t a dream.  It was all real, they both like me.  What am I going to do?

‘’Darling, what’s wrong?’’ I heard my mum’s voice close to me; I looked up at her and smiled.

‘’Nothing mum’’ I ran up the stairs and went to my room.  I jumped onto my bed getting my phone out to call Charlotte.

*RING* *RING* *RING* she didn’t pick up.  She didn’t come into school all day but she told me she was coming in late.  And now she won’t even answer her phone, what if something’s wrong with her?  I started to worry, I really didn’t know what to do.
