Glory rubbed her talons together, glaring at Deathbringer, who insisted he came, to protect the Queen.
Against my protests, Seashell was cowering in the corner of the room as well, not being a very good bodyguard.
"Repeat it," Glory replied.
Clay rolled his eyes, shooting a look at Moon.
Moon recited the words, and Glory started murmuring to herself.
"Turtle, where's the note?"
He gave her a funny look. "The murder threat note?"
"No, Turtle, the apology note. Yes, the murder note. What other notes are there?!"
Turtle shrugged, handing the note to the Queen.
Sunny stared gently at the note. She gestured to it. "This is what we think the first line of the prophecy is. A message, delivered in rhyme."
Glory shook her head. "No, that's wrong."
Clay and Sunny shared a confused look. Clay gave Glory a look. "No, we've deciphered that already. We th-"
Starflight cut him off. "She's right!" he exclaimed. "The note, I can't read it, but it wasn't in rhyme. It didn't rhyme!" he yelped.
Realization dawned me. "The message delivered in rhyme is the prophecy."
Moon shook her head, "Prophecies don't mention themselves. It can't be..." she trailed off. "At least, I don't think."
The stone slab that was the door to the classroom flew open and Kinkajou bounded in, Qibi trailing behind.
"I tried to stop her..." Qibli said apologetically.
I shrugged. "Better Kinkajou barge in than Moon read my mind."
Moon frowned, looking offended.
"Moving on," Glory chuckled.
"A fight that will spark a world going dark," Clay recited.
"A war?" Starflight asked.
Sunny shook with fear. "No, it can't be."
Glory frowned. "Something at Jade Mountain?"
Deathbringer sighed loudly. Glory glared at him. He sighed again. "What?" Glory snapped.
"It's something between Dolphin and Tsunami."
As they argued over the last line, I sighed. I glanced wistfully at the window, frowning as an idea passed over me.
I looked around the small classroom. In the two days Glory had taken to arrive, I had taken Clay up on the offer to teach Intro to Enemy Combat.
I'd only hosted three classes so far, but I was already enjoying it. I could get used to this, stay here forever. The dragonets were awesome, and Clay had already dumped Aqua and Seahorse in a winglet.
I listed carefully to the yelps outside the door, and when I poked my head out, I found Aqua happily chasing Mangrove, a pretty RainWing, and Seahorse was plopped on the ground, engrossed in a conversation with a NighWing, Darkstar.
Aqua gave me a toothy smile. "MOM!" he yelped. "I LOVE IT HERE!"
I gave him a sad smile. We'd have to leave eventually, wouldn't we? It would break their heart, I know it. "That's awesome!" I patted his head.
I shut the stone door, bringing myself back to a world of arguing. Over my ex-husband's affair mistress/my threatener/ possible future murderer.
I looked around the room once more, trying to settle on what to do. Then a wave of memories wash over me and I nod softly to myself.
I carefully slipped out the classroom, entering the small stone hallway. I sprinted out, towards the caves Turtle hides in.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding when I see that Turtle isn't lurking around. I squeeze out the small opening near the ceiling, letting myself take to the sky, heading straight.
Straight for the island of Ripn-- theUnnamed Island.
