PHOENIX: Tales from Easifa #1. SCALEHART Part One.

{400 years before the story of Phoenix: Three Wanderers}

--- On A Carrier Ship. southeast off the Coast of the Militia Capital Eadala ---

???~ Pops, this boat is so big! Can I go play on the deck?

Savas~ Sure thing. Just don't go near the edge OK? If anyone gives you trouble, yell for me.

???~ Ok pops!

Savas Scalehart leaned back against the railing. He was at the stern of the ship, away from the loud and rowdy people returning to Easifa from various journeys. Savas Scalehart was a scalebound, or in other words, a man with lizard-like blue scales covering his whole body. He was very tall, and fit, with a strong jaw and green eyes. He had on black pants with suspenders, brown boots, a trench coat, and red hair under a black flat-top cap. He also was on a crutch as his right leg was wrapped up in bandages. The small child that just ran to the deck was his son, Solosis. Sol was the spitting image of his father, although his attire was a little too big for the guy. The child ran off with a toy made of rocks and sticks. Savas thought this mini trip with him was a good idea, hopefully, he can have the boy home in Eadala by sundown. Just as Svas reaches into his pocket to grab a cigar, the captain of the ship approaches him.

Ship Captain~ Lieutenant Scalehart, glad to see you and your son enjoying the ship. We will make it back to Majid soon.

Savas~ I appreciate it, captain. But, let's keep the Lieutenant's name quiet here. If the people on this ship know, it'll ruin my job. After all, I could've taken a more comfortable ship back to Majid.

Ship Captain~ Yes sir. I apologize. Not every day the militia is on board here. Well about that scouting job, I have some information about the passengers here. I think they could be of use to the Grand Commander job. hands Savas some papers

Savas~ Hmmm. Let's see here. Reginald, a Level A Jinn Hunter. Ugh, I don't want to have to deal with JHA. Jack and Ezequiel, A Raeb duo. Merlo, a Qazam sorcerer. Faelynn, A Qazam Ranger. Yuta, A Mayit? Is it safe to have Mayit and Raebs on the same ship?

Ship Captain~ No. They already caused a ruckus but things should be fine now.

Savas~ Alright then. Brielle, strange to see a human that is not a Jinn Hunter traveling. And Mohin... he must be the monk that is sleeping on the deck. He's been there for hours.

Ship Captain~ Yes, quite the rowdy bunch. I don't know If they'll accept the job offer, but even one or two could be useful for the fight.

Savas~ Hm, some look reliable. Let me know who you can get aboard.

Ship Captain~ Yes Sir.

There was a commotion at the deck. Savas and the Captain go to take a look. Savas was more worried about solosis than anything but he calmed when he saw the boy playing with the Qazam girl Fae... something? He can't recall. Savas observed the group of travelers with keen eyes. The commotion was the Raeb duo starting a fight with the Mayit and two others again. The captain stops the argument and takes them up to the observation bridge, no doubt to offer them Malek's job. Savas isn't sure those are the right picks but they did look quite powerful. Solosis runs to his father with a smile. Savas pats his son's head. They should be arriving in Majid soon. Suddenly, Savas notices two ships closing in from both sides, and they don't look friendly. Savas gets on his one good knee and whispers to his son.

Savas~ Go to our cabin, stay in the closet. Do not come out till I come to get you. Bad people are here.

Solosis~ I know you're super strong, but pops you can't fight bad people with your hurt knee.
