One year ago I deleted everyone that I know from Facebook. I had spent the last year watching people, my family, some of my oldest friends, mock a woman who stood up for herself and her body on national television. For several weeks leading up to the purge, I had watched their opinions on the abortion bans that were circling the country where they stood with an unborn fetus over the emotional, physical, and financial health of the women bearing them.
Everywhere I turned there were horrible memes mocking and judging absolute strangers, from people who have spent their whole lives teaching me about the heart of Christianity.
I spent weeks in turmoil and indecision. How do you grapple with the knowledge that you no longer like people that you have spent your life loving? And how do you protect yourself and your children from the harm that comes from being near them.
