1850 Tristian's Story

Part 8

As the weeks of being married settle in, I am sitting in the parlour watching Anna play the piano as it is a few days till Eliza and Edwards wedding. We thought to keep the pregnancy quiet Anna is nearly 12 weeks she is going to be showing in a few days. The girls have been that busy that's Anna has only had this morning to sit with me before she must go with Eliza to decorate table decorations. I am sitting listening to her making up own song. Then Edward and Eliza standing by the doorway listening to Anna playing. I gestured for them to come in, they came in sat on the other sofa listening just watching Anna perform she loses all sense of the world.

As the after came Anna and Eliza went off to do wedding stuff, I decided to stay seated for a while and as I am sitting there looking at book. Edward was searching the bookcase and then my mother enters and said "Edward there you are come with me I got to talk to you", Edward looked at me like help me I could not help put laugh as I knew why my mother took him. Its to explain how she wanted her child to be cared for. I read the book but suddenly, I could hear a bang. I jumped up and ran to the hall way where the bang was It was my mother she dropped something and then I looked around Edward looking at me but then there they were Eliza helping Anna into the bridesmaids dress revelling her little bump. My mother gasped and I then walked over and shut the door to let her get dressed and I walked to my mother and escorted her and requested that Edward goes and get a glass of water. Next thing as escorting my mother, my father ran down the stairs and said "what happened", my mother replied "Anna is pregnant", they looked at me and as they said it everyone was in the room.

I decided to speak first "yes Anna is pregnant we choose not to tell anyone yet as of Eliza and Edwards wedding in a week and we did not want to take focus off them". My mother questioned us asking why haven't you told your parent she went on a little rant but then her face changed when Eliza said "we knew and we respected their decision", my father agreed with our decision but my mother was not happy . my father tried to calm her down eventually she calmed. She asked, "how far are you", Anna replied "12 weeks", then it dropped my mother said, "you were intermate before your wedding", we looked at each other.

Then Eliza said, "it's time to tell them what's going on", my parents looked at each other. I looked at everyone and Anna said, "someone needs to know; everything is happening so fast", they looked confused and then I let the girls explain. My mother then came over to where I had taken a seat then started hugging and crying but the girls told her were all fine about it were going to deal with it. All evening then we explained over dinner. Then I sat with Anna in our room we had a sofa in the corner so me and Anna sat cuddling her head on my lap looking at me I put my hand on her stomach. We were smiling at each other, Anna looked at me and said "I'm so happy that someone knows what's going on", I just couldn't help put my hands through her hair as the evening went on we talked and then we got ready for bed.

It has been a few days since my mother and father found out but as usual my mother has been over the tops because of the wedding. It was hectic around here as today the day when Edward and Eliza wedding happening, I had to leave the house as Edward has asked me to be his best man. I shouted to whoever could hear me "See you all at the wedding". Nobody replied but then my father said, "see you there", as he approached from the study. I waved and walked out the door I got to my horse and jumped on. As riding the horse on the way to Edwards I notice that the paths look different.

As I got to Edwards his sitting on the patio as I walk up I say "you alright", he looks up and says "I'm fine just tired of the crap in that house", I looked puzzled at him and sat on the opposite patio furniture and then could hear shouting coming from inside. I ask him "what's happening", Edward went on to explain that last night his father turned up to the house with his mistress and forgot his mother was coming into town. I were not happy with what's going on, I am contemplating on whether to walk in and tell them to pack it in but before I know I'm up walking into the house Edward saying "stop Tristian stop", I'm already in front of his parents and their still arguing and what came out of my mouth I couldn't believe "STOP THE FUCKING SHOUTING YOUR SONS GETTING MARRIED", they both look at me. Edwards standing behind me and then his mother and father are apologising to him and then as I am looking at them hugging Edward, he mouths thank you.

Later that after noon we was at the church as the wedding under way, Eliza and Edward are giving their vows to one another. The church was so beautifully decorated with white orchids down the aisle, as looking around the church with a bunch of people smiling. I look over at Eliza's Bridal party and see my beautiful wife glowing with her baby bump showing my mother and Eliza thought it was time that Anna should reveal her pregnancy as they did not want people to give her alcohol. As I am watching my wife, she looks over at me and smiles. The wedding continuing the ceremony was making each person feel a sign of relief as Eliza and Edward were meant to be from a young age, they were inseparable. The wedding was coming to an end and the bridal part and grooms' men left together I walked back down the aisle with my Anna, and she said, "don't this feel familiar", she then giggled. When we got outside my mother handed us some rice to throw at the happy couple.

They walked out and everyone throw rice over them and then people started to walk to the reception as it was 2 doors down from the church. As we arrived Eliza and Edward had an outside reception and the evening went smoothly, they had their first dance, Eliza's and Edwards dance was to a nice soft song that they wrote together and gave the music sheet to the band. The song was slow and gave that romance feeling to it.

We all sat and eat then it was time for the toast and everyone else gave theirs and it was my time, so I stand and walked over to the stage area where they asked everyone to go. As I arrived at the stage, I started my toast "today I am celebrating not just for my sister Eliza, I am celebrating for my best friend Edward and their relationship blossom from when we were all young and we all would be outside playing in the garden. I do have this memory of one summer I was about 9 and Eliza and Edward was 7 but even then Eliza could wrap me and Edward around her finger, so we was in the garden and she wanted to play pretend wedding so she gave us the orders I would be the priest and her and Edward would be the bride and the groom, but from then once Eliza and Edward grasped eyes on each other they fell in love. Their relationship has grow and the friendship that came with it will last forever and I would like to end this on I don't just have a sister, I have been given a brother from today, to Eliza and Edward", everyone cheers to the happy couple. As the evening went on it was time for Eliza and Edward to go on their honeymoon.

Everyone said their goodbyes to the couple, me and Anna went to the carriage to say goodbye we gave them hugs and said see you when your back. They got in the carriage and went down my arms around Anna I gave her a kiss on the forehead and then asked " do you want to stay or go home", Anna said "lets go home", so we said good bye to everyone and made our way back home.
