"shortly after that tragic day, things began to pick up for us. Together with the Stanfords, Namwiinga and I started an orphanage. We took in kids from all walks of life and taught them to respect one another regardless of color and gender." Morgan says with a smile on his face and tears slowly dripping down his cheek. "Matt was born around that time. Shortly after his birth Namwiinga and I got married. It was a small wedding, but we were both very happy about it." More tears down Morgans' face that he wipes away.

Vanessa looks at her father bewildered. To her, the story he is telling is a happy one so far. Morgan just got married. So why is he crying? Are these tears of joy or did something wrong happen shortly after mom and dad got married? Vanessa asks herself beginning to have a bad feeling.

Chris vaguely remembers the funeral and Morgans wedding. As he looks at Morgan and sees him crying Chris can't help but remember what happened before they left South Africa. As Matt's older brother Chris remembers quite a lot from their childhood. Including their departed mother. His memories from back then make him clutch his chest in sadness. If only Chris knew who to blame for her death.

Matt wonders how this story connects to James's life. The whole story hinted at Tamara being James' mother but with her being killed then what does that mean for James. Was James one of the orphans or is there some other connection that he has to Morgan and Namwiinga? Matt has heard a bit of this story from both Chris and their dad before he was comatose. He doesn't know why but Matt now starts to worry and frowns.

Chris Matt and Vanessa all wonder what is going through James' mind. She still looks unphased by the whole story. Morgans continues to tell his story and as they all listen the kids feel an air of gloom begin to form in the room.

"Life was going well for us in South Africa. The kids at the orphanage were all happy and loved it there with us. We found each one of them good homes with great values. Harry, Catharine, Namwiinga, and I all did our best to take care of all of them." Morgan sighs and looks up as his sadness grows and his smile slowly fades. "A year after our wedding Namwiinga gave birth to you Vanessa."

"Maybe you should skip this part, Morgan." Chris interrupts abruptly standing up. "You don't have to go on, please for her sake," Chris says tears now falling down his face.

Morgan sobs under his breath no longer able to hold back his tears and a broken heart. It now dawns on Vanessa what happens next. Matt too is aware of what happened the day that Vanessa was born. But he never told Vanessa because he was told not to do so at a young age.

James looks at all the people surrounding her confused by their expressions. But she stays silent waiting for everyone to settle. She thinks about all that has been said so far and connects the dots. Namwiinga died the day she gave birth to Vanessa Namwiinga Brooke.

"No, I have to tell Vanessa what happened to her mother, the love of my life," Morgan says pulling himself together.

Chris sits down and wipes his face with his arm, no longer able to eat. Originally he thought he could handle this story. But sitting there now he realizes that he can not.

Morgan clears his throat before speaking again. " the day you were born Vanessa was a great day." A slight grin on his face. "Two of our young men had just been hired to work aboard Leon's ship and a little girl was adopted by a white couple who absolutely love her. So we decided to celebrate with a dinner party. It was during that party that your mother went into labor." Morgan pauses as he starts to cry again. " Four hours later at 1145 pm, you were born. Your mom and Catherine who helped birth you were both exhausted. And just as we celebrated your birth, a fire broke out." Morgan sobs in pain and grasps his chest.
