The tranquility of the night was disrupted when Gulf suddenly woke up in the middle of his sleep. Panting, rushing breaths were coming out of his mouth, the cold sweat broke amd drizzled on his skin. Nightmare had been haunting him again for days after he got beaten up by his father for spending his time with Mew Suppasit on last Saturday.

More than the scratches he got out of the whipping he received days ago, a mild pain started to crawl and grow inside his chest. He thought it was kay to let himself loose for a bit that day, relishing the time he had missed out for the past few years. But somehow, the one day he spent with Mew made him craved for more days with his old friend. And that was not okay.

That idea would be the most destested by his father since his old man knew the desire he had towards Mew was disgustingly not the feelings he should have towards his kind, a man to be precised.

Gulf couldn't bear it if he would be beaten up by his own father since his body wasn't the only thing hurting, at that time, he got his heart shattered too. It was different from getting punched or kicked by those gangs who aimed their pent-up anger towards Mew Suppasit to Gulf. He didn't let those beatings get into his heart. Gulf didn't care about them at all, unlike towards his father.

Since his mother passed away, his father was the only family to Gulf. He was a warm man before, and Gulf had always been thinking that he could make his father happy again if he behaved. But Gulf was only human after all, he couldn't please anybody. By letting him be the sandbag for those people, made his father angry. But at least his father didn't see red when he thought his son turned to be a rebel, unlike when he knew Gulf had association with Mew.

The young man relieved a sigh as he rearranged his breathing. When he ran his fingers between his hair, he just realized how sweaty he was. Since he couldn't go back to sleep immediately, he decided to take a shower instead.

The cold water trickled down his skin, his wounds weren't hurting anymore after being treated for days. By morning he could finally leave the house and go back to school. He had been absent for days and he needed to catch up on his study.

Gulf only got to sleep after dawn. His unstopabble train of thoughts kept him awake. So the young man ended up with dark colour under his eyes. It was so apparent that his father commented when they were having breakfast together, "Not enough sleep?"

His words made Gulf looked up to him. Even though his father still served the breakfast for them both, the old man had been ignoring him and treating him as if there was no one living in the house beside him.

Gulf hesitantly answered, "Yeah.."

"Why? You can finally go back to school. You love going there, even though all you do is making troubles." His sarcastic tone made Gulf looked down again.

The younger male felt disappointed as the first time his father finally talked to him again wasn't pleasant to listen to.

"So are you going to university by feet? The bike is pretty damage." His father asked suddenly.

Gulf could only nod since he had no other answer to that. The only option he got was walking to school until he had saved enough money to fix the bike or maybe buy a new one. And that made him thinking that he needed to seek for a job to do that. He couldn't ask for more money from his father anymore.

"I think I'll start to work. I'll try to seek for one after classes." Gulf said as he ate the steamed rice from the bowl. "I'll save money to fix the bike."

His father was silence for a while and gave a nod, "I agree. You should start making money on your own. I won't be here for long since I'm getting old." The words gave Gulf a shock, however his father only put on his straight face.
