Chapter Three

Cheryl's POV
Toni has looked nervous the whole ride "Whats wrong?" I ask "Nothing" she says quietly "Oh come on. You're never quiet so don't start now" I say "Fine. You have such a nice house and I don't want you to judge mine" she says softly but aggressively "TT I'm not going to judge your house. I bet it's beautiful" I say trying to make her feel better "Okay" she says looking out the window. I wonder why she's so embarrassed of her home.
We get to her house and it's in the trailer park where Jughead lives "Hey doesn't Jughead live there?" I ask pointing to a house "Yea" she says "Oh I've been here before then" I smile and she slightly smiles back "Which way" I ask "Go straight down then turn left" she tells me so I do that. The farther back we get the less houses there are so they have bigger yards. "There" she says pointing to a white trailer with a yellow door "Awww your house is so adorable" I say parking the car in the driveway "It's a yellow fucking door!!" She says which makes me laugh "I'm guessing you don't like the door" I giggle "I wanted the black one" she tells me "Then it wouldn't be as adorable" I laugh "Exactly" she says "Want me to walk you in?" I ask "What are you the dominant one or something?" She asks laughing "No but I'm still going to walk you" I say getting out the car and grabbing her school bag while she gets her basketball bag "Lets go to the adorable house" I smirk and she sighs walking up to the door "Welcome to the adorable house" she mocks me as she opens the door. The inside is just as nice as the outside, it's pretty modern but also kinda country. It's really neat "Just set that at the door" she says and I drop her bag at the door "Fangs!!" She says loudly so whoever is in the house can hear it "Whats up" a boy with dark floppy hair who looks kinda like Toni says coming out a door which I assume leads to his room "Hey" he says to me "Hi I'm Cheryl" I say "Ooh Cheryl" he says my name weird looking at Toni raising his eyebrows "Shut up idiot" she says "I'm Fangs" the boy says shaking my hand "Where is Zoe?" Toni asks "With Sweetpea" Fangs replied "Who's Zoe?" I ask "Our dog" Toni tells me "Aww you have a doggy" I say happily "Yes two" She says pointing at her brother and I laugh "Fuck you" he says "Anyways it's getting late and I don't want you driving in pitch blackness" Toni says "Bye Fangs" I say waving as we walk out the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow" Toni says smiling at me "Good night" I say getting into my car "Night" she says watching my pull out the driveway and she goes back inside. I see a tall dark figure walking towards her house so I stop my car in the middle of the road. The figure goes onto the porch and opens the door, I see Toni take a dog from him so that must be Sweetpea. I sigh in relief and go home.

"How was the game honey" my mom asks as I sit down at the island "It was fun. The coaches asked me to join the basketball team" I say "Really" she asks smiling "Yea, Toni, Veronica, Jughead and I were playing and I made every shot" I told her "Well if you want to play know you can and I will be at every game" she smiles "Thanks Mom. I'm going to bed love you" I say going up the steps "Love you too" she responds.

It's finally morning and I think I'm going to join the basketball team, I texted Toni to see if she needed a ride but she got her car back from the shop so she said she will just see me at school. I don't think I've ever been this happy to go to school. Toni really has changed my school life drastically and I'm very happy she has.

I get to school and like always my friends run up to my car "Cheryl!!" Kevin yells getting chased by Jughead "What happened?" I asked grabbing my bags out the trunk "Kevin stepped on the break hard on the way here and Jughead's food went flying out his hand so he didn't get to eat" Betty tells me and I laugh "Here Jug" I say holding up a peanut butter bar "Thanks" he says eating it. Toni and Veronica come running towards us "Did you decide?!" Veronica asks "I wanted to ask" Toni whined "Who cares are you joining!!" Veronica asks, I smile at them "Yes I'm joining" I say, Toni drops her bags and picks me up by my butt, Veronica is cheering and Jughead is going through my lunch great. I smile, I love my friends. "Coach is going to be so excited" Veronica says "She's joining?" Peaches asks with the rest of the team "Yes" Veronica says happily and the girls cheer. Toni is still holding me "You can put me down now" I tell her getting scared she's going to drop me "Never" she says putting me over her shoulder "Grab her bags please" Toni says to Betty and Betty grabs them and they all walk into the building with us. Everyone was laughing because of how u was being carried "Let me go!!" I protested "Nope not until we tell Coach" she says smiling "Everyone welcome Cheryl Blossom to the serpents!!!" Peaches yelled and everyone in the hall cheered, I heard people taking about how I better be as good as Jason but I ignore them. We get into the gym "Toni why did you kidnap Ms. Blossom?" The coach said "She's joining the team Zoe!!" Veronica cheers with the rest of the team "Great" Coach Zoe says "Now put her down before all the blood rushes to her head" Coach said and Toni put me down gently "Welcome go the team Blossom" Coach Zoe says handing me my jersey "We thought you might want your brother's number since we found out when you played basketball when y'all were little y'all had the same number" she smiled and I smiled and took the jersey "Thank you" I said looking at the jersey then at Jason's picture on wall. "Come on we still have class!!" Betty says pulling me away "Ohh come on!!" Veronica whines "Class doesn't start until 8:30 and it's only 8:15" Toni says "We always go early" Betty says "She's right we do" I say agreeing with my cousin "Well" Veronica said taking Betty's hands "Now you get to stay in here with me" she smirks and Betty blushes, Veronica nudges Toni who grabs my hands "And you can stay with me until class starts" Toni smiles, I smile back then look at Betty "Fine" Betty says giving in "Yes!!!" They cheered "You won't regret it" Veronica says "Girls if you're staying grab some basketballs and shoot some" Coach said leaving the gym. The team grabs the basketballs and they start shooting them. Veronica is teaching Betty how to shoot and dribble the ball and Toni and I are on the same goal shooting the ball "I'm happy you're joining the team but we have to make it official" she says running to the locker room "Wait what?" I ask "Just hold on" she says entering the locker room, not too long after she comes back out with a jacket in her hands "Here" she says "Awww" "Ooooo" "Cute" I all I hear when Toni hands me the jacket "What?" I ask the girls "Nothing don't worry about them" she says "Put it on" so I put on the jacket and Veronica winks at Toni "Okay what's wrong with the jacket?" I ask concerned it's a prank or something "It's just a regular kinda new varsity jacket" Toni tells me smirking "It has Topaz on the back" Betty laughs "What!?" I say taking it off to look at the back "Toni!!" I whine "I thought you would like that jacket until we got you your own" She says "So put it back on" she says putting it back on for me "And enjoy" she smiles looking in my eyes. We stay like that until the bell rings "Come on Cheryl" Betty says handing me my bag "No no wait" Veronica says "We have class and so do you" Betty tells her "We want to show y'all something" she says "Even the other girls are leaving" I say watching all my new teammates go out the door to their classes "It's fine" Veronica says getting closer to Betty "Uhh...What is it? And how long will it take?" Betty asks "You're not actually considering this" I say "It may or may not be outside" Veronica says "Oooh yes we should go" Toni says "Where?" I ask "Do you trust me?" Veronica asks me "Not really" I say "Do you trust me?" Toni asks grabbing my hand, I gulp then nod my head "Then come on before we're even more late" Toni says taking us outside and into the woods behind the gym.
"Are y'all trying to kill us?" Betty asks "No" Veronica laughs "See" Toni says pointing to a tree "It's a tree?" I say "It's a tree house" Toni corrects me "What are we 5?" Betty laughs and I laugh with her. The two girls look down and look kinda sad "We're sorry. I just didn't think you two were going to bring us to a tree house" Betty says squeezing V's hand "Can we all fit in it?" I ask looking up "Should be able to" Toni says climbing the ladder, we all follow behind her.
It's pretty big to be a tree house behind a school "When did you find this?" I ask "After our first basketball practice freshman year" Veronica told us "Do you know how it got here?" Betty asks "We think there use to be a house near the school but they moved and broke down the house" Toni says "Well we need to get to class now" Betty says "Can't we skip today? We're all passing our classes with A's so one day won't hurt" Veronica says "We're not getting them in trouble" Toni tells Veronica and she nods "Okay let's go" V says helping us down the ladder. We run back into the school and go to our classes. We're only 15 minutes late "Where have you two been" Kevin asks worried "We went somewhere with Veronica and Toni" Betty tells him "Did y'all have sex!!!?" He says louder then he should have "What no shut up" I say hitting his arm "Well what did y'all do...alone...with the girls you both like" Kevin smirks "Nothing like that" I say "And I don't like Veronica" Betty says "Thats a lie" Kevin points out "I never said I liked her" Betty tells him "You didn't have too. You look at her all the time and when she wanted you to hold her hand in the hall this morning you did" Kevin says "Okay fine stop talking about me and V. How about Toni and Cheryl" Betty says taking the attention off her "They like each other too" Kevin smiles "Do not" I say "If Toni was to walk in here right now you would stare at her the whole time. And you have her jacket with her name on the back on" Kevin laughs and the door opens to reveal the one and only Toni "Hey I need my shoes" Toni says to the teacher who points to the back where we are "Thanks" she says walking towards the back and grabbing her shoes, she winks at me and smirks when I start shifting uncomfortably in my seat "Bye Cheryl" Toni said in front of the class before shutting the door, everyone looked back at me and I sunk down in my seat "Like I said staring" Kevin laughs.

We get to lunch and I hit Toni "What was that!!" I say and she smiles "What?" She asks innocently "You came into all my classes today and said bye Cheryl so everyone was looking at me" I complain "You just happened to be in those classes" Toni shrugs "You're welcome" Veronica says sitting down "For?" I ask "I asked Betty what your classes were and gave them to Toni so she could walk in and mess with you" Veronica told me laughing at how my face became red "No wonder red is your favourite color" Toni says putting her hand on my thigh, my breathing hitched and Veronica and Betty started laughing "Ooo are we flirting with Cheryl?" Kevin asks sitting down at the table with Jughead "Yup" Veronica says "Are you two dating?" A girl asks from behind us, we turn around "Uh no" I say "Why?" I add "Well there is a rumour that you two are together because you have her varsity jacket on and she's rubbing your leg and you're both gay" the girl says "I don't see enough evidence there" I say "Well bye" she says leaving and we turn back around "I thought we were together" Toni says sadly "No you didn't" I say pushing her away from me "You two can get a room" Jughead says "Get it for us" Toni challenges "Gross" Jughead says eating his food "Cheryl wished y'all could get a room" Veronica laughs high-fiving Veronica "Fuck you" I say to Toni "Do it your self coward" she says and everyone laughs.

It's the last period of the day and after this I have my first practice. I'm scared that I was only good once and I will be horrible today. The bell rings and Toni, Veronica and I walk to the locker room together. We get changed into our workout clothing and most girls weren't wearing a shirt just a sports bra and shorts. Of course Veronica and Toni were one of those girls. We go out to the gym and the coach blows her whistle "Everyone on the line" she says and we go to the line "So we all know we won yesterdays game by 17 points and we are going to win the next one because it's just the downturns (that's the name of the team) but we have a new teammate and before we have fun we need to run some drills with her included in it so captains take the lead" she says sitting on the bench.
"Okay so you know how to read a play book right?" Veronica asks and I say yes "Great we will get you one after practice, let's get these drills started" Toni says showing everyone the play book and we all got into our positions.
The practice ran smoothly and I was adapting well to all the girls, the plays were simple compared to what Jason and my dad had us doing when we were younger.
"Drill are over!!" Veronica yelled and all the girls clapped "So practice is over?" I ask looking at the time "Nope we just don't have to do drills anymore and since next game is the easiest game of the year we just relax until 6" Toni tells me. I take my shirt off because it gets hot in the gym and I don't have time to feel a sweaty shirt for the next hour "You can stop staring Topaz" Coach Zoe says to Toni who was staring at me, all the girls started laughing and Toni stopped staring. I like this, a chill community and everyone here is nice and fun.
