Toni's POV
I wake up for school and I really don't want to go so I go back to sleep and tell my brothers to fuck off.
I wake up and it's 12 in the afternoon, I decide to just get up and throw some clothes on. I eat some cereal and text Veronica to see if she's at school and she stayed home as well so I'm going over to her house.
When I get to V's house, her parents aren't home so we sit down "I can't do this" she says randomly "Do what?" I ask "Can't be separated from Betty. I fucking love her bro" she tells me and I sigh "I know V but we have to get our minds off of it right now" I say getting up and grabbing a bottle of alcohol and hold it up "Wanna get so drunk we don't remember a thing" I ask and she nods and grabs cups.
Veronica and I have this pledge that we made when we were 10 that if we ever were to drink that we wouldn't hook up and we have lived by that ever since.
We start drinking like there is no tomorrow and we black out.
I wake up on the floor and Veronica is on the kitchen table "Good now get up before my parents get home" I hear someone say and I look for where the voice is coming from, I see Veronica's sister, Hermosa. "Toni get up" she says handing my some pills and water "V up" she says to her sister and pulls her off the table "How many fucking bottles did you drink?" She asks looking around "I don't know" I say still kind of out of it "Like 4" Veronica says putting up 4 fingers and laughing "Mom and dad are going to kill you" Hermosa says and I go back to a ball on the floor "No no no no Toni. Come on" she says pulling me and her sister to Veronica's bedroom "I'm telling my parents you two are having a sleepover" she says "I don't know why I'm telling you this, your not going to remember" she sighs and throws us on the bed. Hermosa leaves the room then comes back with pills and water "Night" she says turning off the light and Veronica and I pass out on the bed.
I wake up in V's bed and I have a killer headache, I take the pills Hermosa put on the bedside tables and I wake up Veronica "School?" I ask and she groans "I need drinks if I'm going to school" she says and I think about it for a second "What is there to lose" I laugh knowing I lost everything already, we sneak and grab a bottle of alcohol again. We get kinda drunk but not to the point we don't know what we are doing.
"School" Hermione says to us and we look at her "I'm driving you" Hermosa says and we get into the car. "Headache?" She asks us and we groan "Shouldn't have drank that much yesterday" she says and starts driving.
She gets to the school "Have fun" she says and then finally takes a good look at us "You two drank again this morning didn't you?" She asks and we nod "Shit" she sighs "Well we're already here" she says and we get out the car.
Veronica and I walk into school and we look a mess. I have basketball shorts on with Nike socks and Nike shoes with a random shirt I found and Veronica has on loose sweatpants with a random shirt and her basketball shoes.
We walk to our first class, I didn't pay attention at all, I couldn't. I can't think of anything I just feel drunk as fuck. I talk to my friends the whole class period.
I'm walking down the hall with V when a girl from the basketball team comes up to us "Are y'all drunk?" She asks and we just look at her "Want more? Some of my friends have some Hennessy" she tells us and we smile and follow her to the back of the school. Her friends and us drink and we get drunk again, it's not the best way to cope but it's all we have right now.
Veronica and I get to lunch and we are drunk as fuck and we can't stop laughing. We aren't sitting with our normal table, we are sitting by ourself and we have water bottles that has Hennessy in it. "Fuck it up!!" Veronica says loudly and I laugh, we are watching something on her phone. I honestly don't know what we're watching but it's funny cause we're drunk and don't give a fuck.
No Ones POV
"Have y'all seen Toni?" Fangs asks worried about his sister "No why" Kevin asks sitting down at the lunch table "She didn't go to school yesterday and when we got back home she wasn't there and we haven't seen her since" he says and Kevin comforts the worried boy "Veronica didn't come to school yesterday either" Kevin adds. Cheryl and Betty become concerned but they don't show it.
The lunch group hears someone say "Fuck it up!!" and they look over at a lunch table with their two drunken friends. "Are they drunk?" Cheryl asks "Shit" Fangs sighs "What?" Kevin asks him "She drinks when she's emotional or doesn't want to deal with something. I should of known she was with V" Fangs tells them getting up and going to the table his sister is at "Toni" he says "Hey baby brother" she laughs and pats his stomach, Toni drinks out her bottle and Veronica does the same "What in that?" The boy asks "Water" Veronica lies and he takes the bottles and smells it and scrunches up his nose "That's straight alcohol" he says mostly to his self. He makes the two girls follow him to the regular lunch table and once Toni and Veronica see Betty and Cheryl for the first time they freeze like they are sober. The four girls stare at each other while Fangs packs his stuff up "Hey folks" Jughead says sitting down at the lunch table "Can you help me take them home?" Fangs asks the boy "They're drinking again" Jughead says worried "I need your help" Fangs begs and Jughead helps the boy get the two girls home.
The boys throw out all the alcohol the two girls had in their bottles and since Toni has had a drinking problem before they don't keep alcohol at their house so that's not a problem. Veronica and Toni are sleeping on the couches "What are we going to do?" Jughead asks "They can't go down that path again" Sweetpea says "They were doing so good" Fangs adds "As long as they don't go back to the other stuff" Sweetpea says looking at his sister and his pretty much sister.
The two girls wake up the next morning and they feel like shit. Sweetpea and Fangs bring them medicine and water "We're going to school" Fangs says "We're not leaving you two here alone" Sweetpea tells them "Good idea" Veronica says and they take the medicine. They eat breakfast and throw some clothes one. The two girls don't look very presentable but they honestly don't care.
They get to school sober and they go to their first classes.
Toni's POV
I don't like my first period mostly because it's the first class of the day. I promised Jughead, Fangs and Sweetpea that Veronica and I wouldn't drink today and we would make it the whole day being sober.
Veronica and I did go down a dark path when we were around 13 and 14, we were drinking all the time and we started doing drugs. This is around the time her father and mother had an affair and my uncle was abusive to my brothers and I. We have been sober for 3 years and I honestly haven't thought about drinking until recently.
I finally get to go to lunch, did I even go to lunch yesterday? Yea I think I did. I don't really remember. "Where are we sitting?" Veronica asks me "Not at our regular table that's for sure" I tell her and we find an empty table, Fangs and Jughead are staring us down and I get why. They wants to make sure we aren't drinking or doing anything bad. Veronica and I just talk and watch a show we are watching together.
"You look like shit Topaz" The girl from yesterday tells me and I look at what I'm wearing, I really don't care. "Cool" I say going back to watching the show "Want some?" She asks shaking a bottle in front of us and I see Fangs and Jughead staring at us "No we're fine" Veronica says for the both of us "You sure?" She asks and V nods "We're sure" I tell her and she leaves. We look at Jug and Fangs who give us a thumbs up, we smile at them then turn back around.
Veronica and I change from practise and the coach pulls us to the side "Why weren't you at practise yesterday or your last classes? Cheryl gave me her excuse but y'all didn't give me nothing" Coach Zoe says "I'm not dating Cheryl anymore" I mumble and she frowns "We uh just left early" Veronica says and I nod "Why" she asks "Why do you care" I say a little more aggressively then I meant "Excuse me?" She says and I look down "Laps now" she says strictly and we start running.
We see our teammates look at us while we run and they start drills, it's not embarrassing since it's two of us but it's awkward since Cheryl is here.
We finally finish our laps and join in the drills, Cheryl is going against Veronica and I in our practice scrimmage but she never defends Veronica or me like she's supposed to instead Peaches is.
We finish practise and coach calls everyone to a circle "Good job girls, there was a little rearranging that I wasn't aware of" she looks at Cheryl and Peaches "But it's fine, you all worked hard. Go get changed" she says and we go to the locker room.
When Veronica and I get out the locker room we see Cheryl in the middle of the gym talking to some of the girls "Toni. Veronica. Come here" coach says and Cheryl looks at us, we sigh but go to coach "Now without the attitude why did you two skip yesterday?" She asks and we look at each other "We weren't having the best day" Veronica says trying not to say exactly why we weren't here "Are y'all okay?" She asks and we nod "Toni you look like you just got hit with a bus, talk to me what's up" she says "Cheryl and I broke up and V and Betty broke up and we just aren't in the best head space right now" I tell her and she nods "You two did go back to...you know" she says. Coach Zoe knows about how V and I went through drug abuse and alcoholism. She was there to help us and was one of the many reasons we stopped. Veronica and I don't answer and that gives coach her answer "It's okay. You two got this okay?" She says and we nod "Now go home and get some rest" she tells us and we walk outside to our cars "I can't believe we went back to it" V says "We lost the lives of our life's. What did we expect we're fuck ups" I tell her and she nods, I look to my left and see Cheryl talking with Peaches. Cheryl looks up and makes eye contact with me but I look away "This feels like hell" I sigh "We just have to go back to how it was without them" Veronica says "So eat, sleep and breath basketball" I smile "Damn right" V says "Want to go to the court?" I ask and she nods "Race you there" I say running to my car and she does the same.
We speed safely to the basketball court and change back into our gym gear and start playing. Time to go back to old T and V.
