Chapter 7

HeeSoo's POV:

'HeeSoo-ah?' I heard unnie call.
'Are you ready? We can wait if you're not'
'Yah! Unnie it's just a makeover not a concert! And this time i'm surely ready!'
It had been 2 years since i first auditioned for YG. So much happened in this time. My whole school found out about my past which caused me to transfer to homeschooling. I moved into YG dorm. My brothers signed up for SMEnt. I had almost debuted four times but my failing confidence became the hinderance and worst of all, i lost my childhood friend. Yes, tao and i were never able to patch up and i blame myself for it. He signed up for SMentertainment and ended up in the same band as my brothers and our much hated enemy kai. I heard they are friends now. Their band debuted two months ago and are officially the heartthrob of korea.
'HeeSoo-ah!!!' I came back to reality as unnie lightly smacked my shoulder.
'Mwo?' I asked, bewildered.
'Why are you spacing out? Are you nervous?'
'Ani! Ani! I'm excited!' I turned to the stylist 'please make me pretty so i don't lose my confidence again' i gave a weak smile and she nodded.
'You are already very pretty! I shall only enhance it my dear!'
'Khekhe, araseo'
After hours of experimenting and styling, i was finally ready.
'Voila! I am done. Now i shall let you see' she turned my chair until i faced the larger mirror. I slowly opened my eyes to take in the view infrobt if me. My eyes felt heavy due to the crazy long fake eyelashes.
'Omo! Is that me?' I stared wide-eyed at my reflection. My hair was dyed orange and cut in perfect full bangs. My glasses were replaced by dark blue contact lenses. A thick layer of black eyeliner covered my eyes with a dash of silver glittery eyeliner to compliment the look. I had a rosy pink lip gloss that completed the look perfectly.
'Nae! You like it?'
'I love it!' I exclaimed and hugged her tight. 'Thank you so much'
'No problem! I only enhanced your beauty!' She said and beamed a smile.
'Omo HeeSoo-ah! You look gorgeous!' Chaelin unnie exclaimed as she set foot into my dressing room. She was followed by her bandmates.
'Is that really our HeeSoo?' Dara questioned. Her mouth formed an 'O' shape. I smiled and gave her a nod.
'You look so cute' minzy came up and pinched my cheeks.
'We can be twins now because we both are rocking the same hair' bom jumped up and down clapping her hands frantically.
Our fangirling was interupted when papa YG stepped in with another young man. He was dressed in a posh suit and seemed to be in his early 30s.
'HeeSoo-ah! You look great!' Papa YG complimented me and i simply bowed in gratitude.
'Well anyway, this is Lee Jae Yang. He is going to be your manager from now on. Please don't back out on the debut this time'
'I won't' i chuckled lightly.
'Annyeonghaseyo HeeSoo-ah!' The manager beamed an ear-to-ear smile 'i really look forward to working with you'
'Nae! Me too' i smiled and gave a bow.
'Well anyway' papa yg interrupted 'you start recording for your debut song tomorrow. Once the song and music video is released we shall see the response and release the album accordingly. Jaeyang will let you know the further details. Sleep well you have a long day tomorrow!' I nodded in response as he left the room.
'Shall i drop you home?' Jaeyang offered.
'Ani! I'll take her' chaelin unnie assured him.
'Araseo! I'll see you tomorrow then' he smiled and walked out. As i turned around i was attacked by my hyper unnies. 'HEESOO-AH FIGHTING!!!!' They all chorused.

'Okay good work heeSoo-ah! Now we shall discuss the music video so we can start shooting tomorrow' jaeyang oppa spoke clapping his hands. I could tell he was happy with what i recorded. I couldn't believe it! I recorded my first ever song! I was actually going to debut. Is this real life? Have i actually done it? My thoughts were interrupted as jaeyang oppa started explaining the theme of the music video.
'As the song's hidden meaning is power, lust and extravagance we are going to portray you as goddess. You get to choose which kind.'
'Greek goddess?' I said shyly.
'Perfect! So you are going to be the greek goddess who has lots of super powers. You are the envy of every female and dream of every male.'
'Well you chose the wrong person to play that role' i rolled my eyes.
'Don't say that! You're perfect for this role!' Jaeyang protested and continued explaining the video. 'I'll show you the outfits and reference pictures. Kaja!'

I followed him to the costume room where i saw four gorgeous dresses hanging on the wall with a picture of makeup and hair with it.
The first picture was a short white sleeveless dress with gold strips tied in a zig-zag pattern across the torso which met to form a bow right below the waist. It was paired with gold gladiator flat sandals, a gold halo and gold cuffs for the arms and wrists.
The next dress was a peach one shoulder gown. It was very flowy with bronze rings connecting the fabric around the shoulder. It had a thick bronze sparkly belt which tightened the waist area to give a petite look. There was a long slit on the side of it's skirt. This was paired with bronze chained jewellery and high heels of the same colour.
The third dress was black maxi gown. It had lots of cutouts in the front and back. It had a gold choker neck. The gold cuffs that accompanied it had black net attached to them which fell in a perfect U shape at the back.
The last dress was a white crop top with a boat neck that had bold sequin embroidery. It was paired with white high-waisted short shorts and a net maxi skirt that split from the middle. I had to admit it was a rather exposing dress but none-the-less it was gorgeous.
Each dress had a chic updo and dramatic makeup to compliment it. I couldn't help but feel excited.

'Omo HeeSoo-ah i just saw the music video!' Unnie screamed on the phone making me flinch in pain. 'It's so good! It's been 48 hours only and have you seen the amount of views? You look so perfect in it! And the theme is so attractive!! Ahhh' she continued blabbing on and on about how much she loved it. I had been getting calls since yesterday as people congratulated me on my success. I was truly grateful but i still felt slightly empty inside. It felt like something was missing. I unconsciously ended the call as my thoughts began to get clouded.
I couldn't help but think of how Tao would've have reacted if we were still friends. I bet he would've jumped around and celebrated with me. He would've been so happy about my success just like he had always been. I remember when we used to practise kungfu together when we were young and whenever i mastered a move he would always treat me. And i would do the same.
'HeeSoo-ah!!!' Jaeyang oppa exclaimed as he burst into the room. He was clearly excited. 'Wait are you crying?' His smile transformed into a worried frown.
I hadn't realised that tears escaped my eyes as i recalled the memories of Tao.
'Wae? What's wrong'
'It's nothing. I just saw something sad' i flatly lied. Obviously i sucked at lying.
'You sure?'
'Nae! What were you going to tell me when you came here?' I tried changing the topic.
'Mwo? Oh yeah yeah! Well..' His excitement returned.
'Hmmm?'
'GUESS WHAT?'
'What?...'
