“Your turn,” I say, placing a Jenga block on the top of the tower. Tiffany always beats me, but I think she has a sort of unfair advantages because she can move the air under the tower so it doesn’t fall when it’s her turn.

“Can I move more than one piece?” Tiff asks.

“Sure,” I answer. I watch as she takes the entire bottom half of the tower out, leaving the top half suspended in midair.

“Hm,” placing the bottom half on the top half, she smiles and lets the entire tower of blocks float down until it hits the thinly carpeted floor. “Your turn,” she smirks.

“That was cheap,” I grumble. Every tier of the tower of blocks only has one block now. “It’s notw physically impossible to move a piece.”

“No it’s not.” She takes a block from the middle, splitting the tower into two just as the door slams open. “Ah!” The tower of blocks falls into a pile on Tiffany’s lap.

Throwing my arms up into the air, I yell “Yes! I won!”

“That doesn’t count,” she complains.

“Did Tiff lose?” Nora sets a plastic bag on my pink flowery comforter, only to pull out a silvery blue dress.

“Is that the dress you’re going to wear to the dance?” I question.

“Nooo… it’s the dress you’re going to wear to the dance.”

“Wait, what? I’m not going.”

She points her finger at me. “You ditched me while shopping, you’re going to the dance. You owe me.”

Knowing how obstinate my roommate can be, I agree. “Who am I going to go with?”

“I don’t know. Ask your boyfriend.”

Tiffany perks up. “Anna has a boyfriend? I did not hear about this one.”

“I don’t have a boyfriend!” I shout, throwing a Jenga block at her playfully.

Unfortunately, it hits her in the nose. “Ow!” She exclaims as she bats it away. “That really hurt, Anna!”

I’m saved when the door opens once more and Isaac looks at us with his hazel eyes.

“What are you doing?” I hiss.

"Get off the girls’ floor!” Nora adds.

Isaac looks alarmed. “Is it against the rules? Wait, am I breaking the rules?”

“It’s not against the rules as long as you don’t kiss or anything,” Tiffany informs him.

He blinks at her with his wide eyes. “Your nose is bleeding.”

The Libra’s hand flies to cover her face as she rushes to the bathroom, grabbing Nora by the wrist to help her.

“What’s up, Isaac?” I ask.

“You still owe me two questions. Remember?”

“I was kinda hoping you wouldn’t remember, to be honest.” I sigh. “Shoot.”

“What are you afraid of?”

“What am I – I don’t know. Nothing, I guess.”

“Spiders!” Nora shouts from the bathroom.

I nod. “Spiders.”

“What sign are you?”

“Cancer.”

“Favourite colour?”

“Pink. Hey wait, that’s three! I get to ask you one!”

He grins at me from the doorway. “Shoot.”

“What are you afraid of?”

Isaac goes pale. “I’m not telling you.” He says stubbornly.

“Tell me!” I beg.

“Promise you won’t laugh?”

“Nope.”

He smiles. “Water.”

“Wha – water? But that’s your element!”

“Not like a drop of water, but like a pool or an ocean or something that could drown me.”

“You would’ve had to grow up near water, though, right?”

“Yeah. I hated it.”

“No way! Water’s the best!” I laugh. “You really shouldn’t have told me you don’t like it. I’ll make you like it now.”

“Oh no.”
