Chapter 5

3rd Person POV

"...Mr Hay. No visitations to Miss Barnes or Mr Knight"

Ste cried tears of joy. He got to keep his kids forever. Amy cried at the thought of never seeing her kids again and Ryan was furious.

"Mr Hay, take your children home" the judge says. Ste didn't have to think twice, the kids and him were out of there fast.

They walked to the park but before getting to John-Paul and James, Ste told them to give them both big hugs. The kids nodded and as soon as they saw the 2 men stood there the kids ran shouting their names. James held Leah and John-Paul held Lucas.

"Well done Ste." James said, shaking his hand.

"Thank you." Ste says.

"How did Amy and Ryan take it?" John-Paul asks worried that they may get a lawyer and try again.

"They weren't happy but this is for the best" Ste says looking at his kids.

"How about we go to the dog and get some drinks in" James suggests and they all agree.

At the dog

Ste, James, John-Paul, Leah and Lucas all walked in only to be hounded by Amy who was already there.

"How could you Ste. After everything." Amy shouted and pounded on Stes chest. Ryan pulled her off him and put himself between her and Ste. James and John-Paul did the same thing.

"You can't blame me for all this." Ste says

"You could have kept quiet" Ryan says.

"Quiet, after what you did." This time it was John-Pauls turn to get angry.

"Don't know what you're on about" Ryan said, looking around at the people who were now watching and listening.

"So you didn't put the bruises on their arms." James said matter-of-factly.

"you don't know what you're talking about Nightingale" Ryan said to him not getting closer.

"Just be glad I haven't gone to the police, its domestic abuse." Ste says putting Leah and Lucas behind him.

"I'm done." Amy says storming out of the pub with Ryan close behind her.

"Thanks guys" Ste says to James and John-Paul.

"No problem." John-Paul says.

James went to get drinks in while the other 4 went and sat down.

"What are we gonna do" Ste says to John-Paul.

"We could always just tell them and let that fizzle out." John-Paul says to Ste. He just wants to be with Ste again and Ste felt the same.

"Why don't we look for a little flat where all 5 of us can live? Then we slowly start to move some of our stuff there and when we have basically moved in we tell them and leave. We can be happy." Ste says.

"Sounds like a plan."

And that is exactly what they did. Over the next few weeks they found and started to pay Mortgage. With John-Paul being vice principle, he gets good pay, and Ste owning half of the Hutch he got a fair bit of money. They were going to move into a 3 bedroom house with plenty of space for the 2 of them and all 3 children plus extra room in case Hannah came and stayed with them a while. For the past 4 months they had been redecorating and trying to stay out of sight. They also tried to keep it a secret from the kids as they knew the kids would tell their substitute dad.

It got to the day when everything was done. The only thing left to do was move in. They had to tell their fiancés that they had to leave. They planned to write letters and leave their engagements rings with the rings. This affair had been tearing into them both. Lying and deceiving their partners.

They didn't get to leave the note.
