Present

We kept staring.
How is it possible?????

Charlie had seen them take away the dead Selena.

Then how???

Wait, did they admit her to the hospital???

No... Why would they?? They killed her....

Then, who??

But wait, Karel disappeared because she came to meet her sister.

She didn't tell us about her family because she didn't want to tell us about her sister in hospital.

Oh, I doubted her. Oh dear!! What a selfish person I am!!!

I never thought about how much hurt she would have been when we brought up her family.

Oh my Karel!!

Karel got up, wiped her tears, and came outside.

She was aghast to see us.

"You guys were following me???"

"Uh-oh...." Tay stammered.

I just walked up and hugged Karel tight without thinking of anything.

"I'm sorry baby!!! I really am... I never thought about you that you must be having such problems.
I was so selfish.
But now there's nothing holding me back.
I won't let you go.
Every thing means nothing if I can't have you Karel.
I'm fallin' all in you. I love you!!"

I wept. I felt guilty, a lot.

"It's okay love. You were just being possessive and protective.
I didn't mind all that.
Umm.. Yeah... I shouldn't have said such things to Taylor. I'm sorry girl." She said.

"It's okay man!! We are sorry for doubting you too. You were completely innocent." Tay said.

"So, all's well that ends well. Let's head home then??" Charlie said. He was trying to hide his paleness. He wanted to meet Selena but Tay had nudged him to be quiet.

"Umm...I'll be with her for some more time. My cousin will drop me home. You guys leave."

"Okay, as you wish my lady!!" I said and did a curtsy.

"Stop!!!" She laughed.

We left.

In the car,
Charlie asked, "Why didn't we ask her how they saved her??? Why didn't you let me meet her??"

"Karel shouldn't know we knew Selena. Or she'll somehow blame us for all of this, she's her sister after all." I said.

"Correct, and Mr. Lover, if you'll ask to meet her, Karel would definitely know."

"Yeah... But I'm so happy!!!!!!! My Selly's alive." Charlie had tears in his eyes.

"Yeah... But you remember how she left you, don't you???" Taylor asked. She still hadn't come over the fact that Selena had broken up with him without any warning or reason.

"Yeah, I do.... But I'm sure she must have done it for some other valid reason, not because she suddenly stopped liking me."

"Whatever, but you won't go back to her that's it..."

"But--"

"No!! What if she does this to you again???"

"Okay... As you say wise Tay-tay... But at least let me be happy thinking that she's alive."

"Yeah yea--"

"Stop!!" I interrupted, "Do you guys even realise she hasn't woken up yet???? She is still in the hospital after six months.... So what's the point in bickering like that????"

"You're right...." Both agreed.

"I hope she wakes up soon. I want to see her smile." Charlie got lost in his lovely dream.

We reached my place, both dropped me and drove off.

I hope mom's fine.

I entered the kitchen.

On the dining table were sitting two people, not mom and dad, dad was out, it was, Andrew, Emma's boyfriend.

Andrew was in tears but he was consoling mom and she was smiling.

When she saw me, mom said, "Hey honey, see, Andrew's here. It felt nice to have him. You talk to him, I'll bring something to eat."

"No no Mrs. Mendes, I'll leave. I've some work to do." He said.

"Oh-okay."

He passed by me saying, "See you man!! We'll find out Emma soon."

"Yeah thanks man!!"

He left.

I was going to sit on the chair but I saw something which was not ours.

"A.M., Andrew Mathews, yeah, it's his.... I'll go give it to him mom."

"Yeah honey.."

I ran outside hoping he wouldn't have left.

He was beside his car, talking on his phone,

"Did she???? Damn!!! Just do your work fast!!

.....

....

Yeah do it... I'm coming to pick you."

He cut the call.

"Hey Andy!!"
He turned around with a shock.

"Sh-shawn??? Umm... Yeah???"

"You forgot this black mask of yours.... It had your initials so I thought it might be yours, is it??"

"Oh yeah it is!!! Thanks man!"
He calmed down.

"By the way, why do you wear a mask??"

"Umm", he stammered, "I-I don't want to show my ugly face..."

"Shut up!! You're handsome!!! Why do you think my sister would date you then???"

"Of course!!", his eyes lit up as if got an excuse, "So your sister dates me cuz I'm good looking???"

"No no... You're a cool and nice man too!!"

"Yeah yeah thanks!! Okay, I'll leave, I'm late."

"Yeah yeah sure!!!"

"Bye.."

"Yeah.. Bye"

He drove off.

Why did he not tell me the reason of wearing a mask??

He changed the subject......
